We’ll Drop 2 Points

We’ll Drop 2 Points

Despite the best efforts of some to ignore it, I’ve already said that I believe that we will be too much for Chelsea and win the impending FA cup semi-final this weekend.

But how will we fare in with our remaining Premier League games?

Palace Away Out of the relegation scrap. What’s their motivation? 3 points.

Arsenal Indoors These idiots are eminently beatable. 3 points.

West Ham Away Joy of joys, a trip to Subhuman Scumland. These idiots are eminently beatable. 3 points.

Man Utd Indoors Let’s not get confused by the Chelsea victory. That game was atypical. Jose played some players who wanted to prove a point. Bizarrely, I see Utd’s more likely starting XI as being somewhat weaker. 3 points.

Leicester City Away This lot need investigating The Sweeney. Win the league – then they’re nailed on for relegation – then they sack their gaffer and now they’re back up in the top half in the table. Liars, cheats, thieves and costermongers to a man. 1 point.

Hull City Away The Tigers are fundamentally unsuited to the Premier League for a good many reasons. The good news for them is that there are sides out there who may well be even more suicidal than they are. By the time Spurs travel north, their fate is likely to be sealed.

My guess is that no matter what nasty salary reductions they might have in their contracts, City don’t have enough about them to oppose Tottenham. 3 points.

Just watching PMQ’s, prior to the debate and vote on the June election.

Labour MP’s voting for the election would be akin to Turkey’s voting for xmas if their poll ratings are correct.

    • Caspurs♿️ April 19, 2017 at 12:21 pm

It wouldn’t make a difference whether the election is now, or at the end of their term, the result will be the same.
Maybe after losing, Corbyn might realise he’s a waste of space, and do whats good for the Labour party, and step down? I somehow doubt it tho.

I really don’t understand the media reaction. It would be no different to them if it was Kane. He’s wound our fans up more than once, notably on the bus parade. I can only think it’s led by sour Goons in the media.

  • UnkleTaff April 19, 2017 at 11:37 am

Leicester’s season is now effectively over. They’ve just about done enough to not get relegated and have nothing left to play for. If we’re still on for the title by the time we play them we’ll crush them under our heels.

I’m with McG. Arsenal and West Ham are the two remaining banana skins. Get past them unscathed and Chelsea won’t know what hit them.

    • Camus April 19, 2017 at 12:12 pm

I still think the Foxes would love to do us over – for reasons I don’t understand. Just hope we smash them.

      • Caspurs♿️ April 19, 2017 at 12:14 pm

They will be on the beech, by the time we play them.
        We’ll smashum!

    • ronwol196061 April 19, 2017 at 12:26 pm

We can beat anyone and that means we can beat everyone. Its not about them its about us. Having the mental strength to take it on is the most important thing, the desire and the will.
In that sense it doesnt matter who we play. Arsenal for sure will be after our arses but we have to play to our best. West Ham too. Leicester too.United too. Its not to do with what is an easy game. There are no easy games.
We really have to be ready each and every games.
Its not others that should decide if we are champions, its us. To win the League we have to believe

      • Camus April 19, 2017 at 12:39 pm

Good words, Ron. Amen. The players have to fear nobody.

        • UnkleTaff April 19, 2017 at 12:50 pm

          I agree. Of course.

But it doesn’t alter the likelihood that both Arsenal and West Ham (especially West Ham) will do everything in their power to prevent us from winning this league. It’s all very well saying “we need fear nobody” but the PL is such that every team is capable of beating every other team on their day. We’re more than capable of winning all our remaining games; I just highlighted these two as the ones I believe to be the trickiest in the run in.

          • ronwol196061 April 19, 2017 at 12:55 pm

Both United and Leicester will be after our asses too.
Uniteds win this weekend and Leicesters resurgence will not make them any less a threat than Arse and West Ham.
Infact I think West Ham will be one of the easier games

            • UnkleTaff April 19, 2017 at 1:04 pm

Leicester have come to the end of their “new manager” honeymoon. They’ve just been knocked out of the CL. I fully expect them to tail off from here on in.

Utd face us three days after the second leg of their (probable) Ropey League semi-final second leg. Their league fate will more than likely have been decided by then so they’ll either be disappointed from not reaching the cup final or celebrating the fact that they have. Either way they’ll have other things on their minds besides playing us.

For these reasons I make the Arsenal and West Ham games the trickiest games we have left. I wouldn’t put it past the Hammers to put in their best performance of the season when they play us.

As you say, if we play to our strengths and impose ourselves on the game first we should be able to overcome them. But I expect them to at least try and make it very difficult for us.

If we beat both Arsenal and West Ham I reckon we’ll win the league.

Just have to keep winning and see if the Chavvers can handle the heat, we can’t afford to slip up as much as they can’t but we have the harder fixtures. We’ll Draw against Utd at home for a start, unless Jose throws it to try and stop his former employers from winning the title without him…

I can see Man U being a very tough fixture for us. Loss is as possible as a win.

Everton will give them a game but I see them winning all the rest.
Saints, Watford & West Brom have nothing to play for. Boro & Sunderland are goners anyway.

They will fail to win at least two of their remaining games. And that’s all we need.

    • poxy April 19, 2017 at 2:24 pm

Quite! And four of their games at home, too.

  • Camus April 19, 2017 at 7:52 am

I would love it, LOVE IT (Sorry, inner Keegan…) if we won all our remaining games and pulled off an unlikely title win. But sadly, even if we play our part, I fear there will be a way for the powers to be to ensure that the Blues take the trophy. Teams lying down for them, a dodgy ref decision here or there, secret bank transfers from Roman – if we’re looking like we might nick it, there will probably be a way to stop us. But all we can do is do our job and keep fighting the good fight.

    • caveman April 19, 2017 at 7:56 am

Let’s put them to the sword on Saturday and leave the rest to the God’s.

      • Camus April 19, 2017 at 7:59 am

Aye, sir. We can but do that.

    • East Stand April 19, 2017 at 9:11 am

I agree Camus, jealousy means that other sides accept the usual suspects winning the title but when Spurs get close everyone wants to stop them. It’s to do with us being big club, having great players over the years but under achieving for so long.

Sadly the perception of Spurs from some other supporters is that we think we’re bigger and better than we are, if you look at our support and our history that isn’t the case.

However, for over 20 years (Sugar and then ENIC) the club have had countless false dawns and we’ve made noises that we are going somewhere only for key players to be cashed in on or managers booted out and directors of football hired.

We are the big club that everyone has got used to not doing big things so the envious smaller clubs that like to think are our close rivals like Wet Spam, WBA, Leicester and others below them are motivated by trying to show us up. It’s a problem of the club’s own making, or the owners over along period of time.

I like the fact that Poch doesn’t care about that, he sees us as great club and the one that took his fellow countrymen Ricky and Ossie to their hearts while the U.K government were fighting them over the Falklands, Bill Nic and ground breaking football played with style.

All the stuff that transcends the media dullards and hype, all the romance and Glory that makes wanting to win and win in style seem more important than “the transfer window has slammed shut” and all that drivel and meaningless crap that we are force fed every day. That’s what Poch is about, he’s about Glory…

Eriksen has come of age with his overall game but sadly lost the midas touch with his scoring from free kicks which seem a distant memory.

Messi is world class, Ditto Suarez, Neymar, Iniesta, Aguero, Ronaldo, Griezman, Bale and Sissoko!

          lloris
          Kane
          Alli
          Eriksen
          Dembele
          Aldi

We have to free ourselves from thinking now.
The lessons have been learned. Tottenham have to now put its best foot forward knowing what it can do.

Eriksen showed me he can be positive.Dembele has gone beyond the line into the final third. Dele knows now he has to grow up and keep his edge and has lately…Son knows he can take on anything and win.
    The defence is solid.
Just go out there and do the other guys.

I’d prefer not to run the risk of something ‘backfiring’ in a semi final thanks…

                    • East Stand April 19, 2017 at 8:53 am

I’d start either Kane or Dier on the bench if we went with Son in the starting eleven.

Kane off the bench wouldn’t be a bad move considering he’s had the ankle issue and that we have a hard run of games until the end of the season. Son and Kane could be rotated more now as Sonny has stepped it up and he also obviously offers something different to Kane. It’s a nice dilemma to have, Rose on the way back too.

    Fuck Leicester

    • David Dillenberg April 18, 2017 at 11:30 pm

Good time to play them as safe from relegation and k.o of the CL their season is effectively over.

      They’re shit…

  • Dublin Yid April 18, 2017 at 11:09 pm

I’d reverse the outcomes with Leicester and utd..I think West Brom can take Chelsea by frustrating the hell out of them…the rest are very winable for them..but a wobble is a wobble hmm!

    • Hartley™ April 18, 2017 at 11:11 pm

Everton away for me will be their fifth defeat

      • Hartley™ April 18, 2017 at 11:12 pm

To be honest, I can’t see them getting another point.

      • Dublin Yid April 18, 2017 at 11:14 pm

👌 yes Hartley so West brom and Everton possibilities for nil pwa

    • David Dillenberg April 18, 2017 at 11:20 pm

Compared to Spurs, Chelski have a relatively easy run in and will beat Everton. When they got to 40 pts West Broms season was effectively over as it has proved simply going through the motions.
I marvelled at Spurs win against Bounemouth in Nottingham not just winning but winning with a style and flourish. Tactically Poch has a tough selection decision against Chelski in the FA Cup semi.
Personally I would play both Tripper and Son at the expense of Walker and Wanyama respectively but suspect Walker will keep his place. Son not so sure.

      • David Dillenberg April 18, 2017 at 11:23 pm

*Trippier better crosser of the ball offering so much more in the final third.

        • Dublin Yid April 18, 2017 at 11:33 pm

Totally agree..don’t like the way poch dropped him like that after a great MOTM display

          • David Dillenberg April 18, 2017 at 11:35 pm

Trippier is capable of exposing Chelksi’s fragile defence.

      • Hartley™ April 18, 2017 at 11:30 pm

Your lot were lucky last night.

        • David Dillenberg April 18, 2017 at 11:31 pm

Agreed but they won. Job done!

          • Hartley™ April 18, 2017 at 11:32 pm

            Smash and grab.

            • East Stand April 19, 2017 at 12:44 am

              Arsenal are fucking shit…

  • Bert Simpkins April 18, 2017 at 11:06 pm

What a lightweight, no scores, no scorers, no goal times.

  • gloster1861 April 18, 2017 at 10:56 pm

Brighton need one more win to be champions. Good old Hughton, great to see. And Leeds dropped to seventh and out of the play off positions, excellent.

    • Hartley™ April 18, 2017 at 11:03 pm

I hate Leeds but I’d like them to come up, stay bottom, spend shitloads of cash they don’t have trying to stay up and end up doing a Leeds and get relegated with the ar5e.

  • Hartley™ April 18, 2017 at 10:55 pm

Every point made is a good point.

  • legendary greavesy April 18, 2017 at 10:51 pm

    Concur with that prediction

  • Frontwheel2 April 18, 2017 at 10:44 pm

    I’d be happy with that

  • McG ⚽⚽ April 18, 2017 at 10:43 pm

Foxes had too much luck against us recently, it’s about to run out. They have absolutely nothing to play for by the time we meet, there’s no way they’ll be able to out motivate us, mark my words, they’ll be dreaming of their summer hols. More worried about spammers & goons.

    • gloster1861 April 18, 2017 at 10:49 pm

Only worry about the Wet Spam are injuries they might inflict on us.

  • Stevo1987 April 18, 2017 at 10:42 pm

I hope we hose the lot of ’em. 3 and 4 nils all over the place. Can we? Are we that good now?

  • gloster1861 April 18, 2017 at 10:30 pm

    First and second.

    • gloster1861 April 18, 2017 at 10:30 pm

      It’s the double!!

  • gloster1861 April 18, 2017 at 10:29 pm

Leicester are the fly in the ointment for me too. There’s something not very nice about this current set up. It’ll be a battle no doubt, the feckers will want a say in who succeeds them to the title, and they owe Cheatski.
