Watford Admit They Were Bewildered By Us

By The Boy -

Spurs dominated Watford for some time, frequently in an unconvincing fashion.

But what decided this game was the same adrenalin that Leicester City are currently spurred on by.

Once a football team has that particular flavour of self belief pulsing through its veins, they become irrepressible.

That’s the word to describe Spurs right now.

“You can see in their eyes, the feeling, the energy, that they believe. In football belief is the most important word. If we believe, anything can happen. I believe in my squad and they believe too in the way we play. This synergy is very important for the future. But it is better not to speak too much, only to show, to work hard. This is the better way to show we are ready to compete and after, we see what happens. But the most important thing is to do rather than speak.”

Poch cooed about Alli:

“He is a very good player, a fantastic player. It was difficult for him Tuesday because he felt bad and it was impossible to play on in the game. Today we took a decision to look after him, he is very young. The decision was to start him on the bench and in the second half he made a real impact when he came on the pitch.”

Watford, who drop to 10th, were unable to register a single shot on target against Spurs and they have now failed to score in four of their last five league matches.

“For us it was really difficult to stop the attacks of Tottenham,” Hornets boss Quique Sanchez Flores said.

“They had the ball from the beginning, played really well and used the space amazingly. When we tried to defend the middle of the pitch they went out wide. When we tried to block the sides they played in the middle.”
