Another injury blow for Tottenham: Ange confirms midfielder will miss Arsenal clash due to a knock

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has delivered more bad news on the injury front ahead of the highly anticipated North London derby against Arsenal this weekend.

The setback comes in the wake of star full-back Destiny Udogie’s confirmation earlier this week that he will be sidelined for the remainder of the season due to injury. Udogie’s absence is a significant blow to Spurs, given his pivotal role in Postecoglou’s tactical setup.

While there were concerns over the availability of right-back Pedro Porro and striker Richarlison for the Arsenal clash, Postecoglou provided a glimmer of hope by confirming that Porro, along with Richarlison, have trained fully throughout the week and will be fit for the crucial encounter against their North London rivals.

Ange confirms Skipp injury

However, he shared another injury for Tottenham. Speaking to the press ahead of the North London derby, Ange confirmed that midfielder Oliver Skipp has picked up a knock in training and will miss the game this weekend.

He said (via Football London): “Skippy picked up a small knock as well in training so he’ll be out for this weekend.”

Skipp, although not a regular starter under Postecoglou, adds depth to the squad and his absence further stretches Tottenham’s midfield options.

The injury news comes at a critical juncture for Tottenham, with a string of challenging fixtures on the horizon.

Following the North London derby, Spurs face daunting away trips to Chelsea and Liverpool, before hosting reigning champions Manchester City, playing Burnley in between.

Currently sitting six points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa with two games in hand, every match is a must-win for Tottenham if they want to keep their hopes of a top-four finish alive.
