Walter Mazzarri’s men have 37 points on the board and forward Stefano Okaka put the performance at Spurs down to fatigue more than failure.
Mazzarri said” “In this stadium, when you fall two goals behind it’s always tough – after that, we tried to stand up to them but it’s difficult,” he told the Watford Observer.
“It’s always difficult to come here, but we started okay and after that their quality came out, with our third game in a week, we were a little bit tired.
“They have a very good team. At the beginning, we were playing with a fast counter-attack but after the second goal we lost our concentration for a little bit and that’s when the game was lost.”
