As you may be aware. the Greek-Cypriot owned business, Archway Sheet Metal caught fire early this morning. London 24 reported:
Six fire engines and 35 firefighters fought the industrial fire at the Archway Metal Works for almost three hours. They were called to Paxton Road at 5.18am, where half of the ground floor and all of the first floor of the building were alight.
The fire was brought under control at 7.52am, but crews will remain at the scene to damp down any ‘hot spots’ throughout the morning.”
Having spoken to Peter Josif today, he confirmed that nobody was physically harmed, but the damage is extensive.
A few thoughts on this harrowing mess, then.
Firstly, I would ask ENIC to make a public statement explaining precisely what they actually meant when they recently told the THST…
Their (Archway) intention was to cause delay.”
ENIC have no god given right to take Archway’s business and land at a price that suits ENIC best. But more crucially, Archway’s solicitors have made it painfully clear that their issues were very valid ones.
Unless I’m missing someything, Archway have a legal right to argue their case. To churlishly brand them as ‘timewasters’ is quite wrong.
Why would ENIC seek to put such a comment in the public domain, one that could add to the ire amongst an underswell of some neaderthal fans, some of whom have already threatened the family that own Archway.
On which point, if you sent malicious communications to Archway by any means the Metropolitan Police are the one who knocks.
Paul Winter representing Archway stated in March 2014 that the CPO isn’t legally compliant- and that for all the hot air about regeneration – the Order would sacrifice public interest in the pursuit of the narrow commercial interests of a multimillion pound football club seeking to expand further.
