‘…the signing of the summer’ Arsenal Legend Unconditionally Praises Spurs’ Transfer

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur made a shrewd business move when they added Yves Bissouma from Brighton & Hove Albion for £25 million. The north London club added a player with Premier League experience for a reasonable price.

English football pundit Paul Merson praised the signing of the 25-year-old in his column for Sports Keeda that thus far, Spurs have the “signing of the summer in the Premier League.” Merson highlighted the attributes that make the signing great for the north London club.

“He runs the show, affects football matches right from the get-go, and is an all-round midfielder with quite a bit of Premier League experience under his belt. No disrespect to Spurs, but why didn’t some of the other teams look at him and consider making a move for him?” Merson said.

I look at Liverpool’s midfield and feel he could play for them, especially if someone like Fabinho we’re to get injured. Spurs have nabbed an absolute bargain with Bissouma, and he, in my opinion, has been the signing of the summer in the Premier League so far.

Bissouma made 124 appearances during his time with Brighton & Hove Albion, scoring six goals and three assists. Furthermore, he’s spent most of his playing career as a central or defensive midfielder, so the Mali international is a versatile player for Spurs.

Bissouma will now be part of a group with Rodrigo Bentancur and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg as the three hope to be the backbone of the squad that looks to challenge for silverware and make a deep run in the UEFA Champions League this upcoming season.

I think Richarlison is a little overpriced based on what I’ve seen but I would rather punt on him than Jesus. Hopefully AC wanted him and he’s part of the master plan. COYS.

Haaland I’ve a feeling will have a big poor spell. Premier league is a step up.

Bissouma is definitely the bargain signing of the season so far. His contract was running out though which reflects the price. City signing Kalvin Phillips runs him close. Leeds should have charged more..

The actual signing of the season so far has to be Haaland. He’s the best player. City will be even stronger.

…and he also thinks Richarlison is one of the worst. The truth probably lies somewhere between on both deals.
