Pochettino could annoy Chelsea fans with what he has said about ‘special club’ Tottenham

By Saikat -

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has now opened up on his time at Tottenham Hotspur.

The Argentine manager revealed that he is disappointed to have not won a trophy with the North London club.

Tottenham certainly came close to winning trophies during his time at the club. They managed to compete for the league title and reach the final of the UEFA Champions League.

Pochettino claims that his team were really close to glory and he would have liked to deliver silverware for the fans. The Argentine manager further referred to Tottenham as a special club that can achieve what they want.

He said to TNT Sports (h/t Spurs Web): “It is difficult to talk now because it is always going to be a special club for me. I need to repeat that I left the club because I was sacked.

“We achieved things, we were so close but missed the last step. That was a shame and sad because we wanted to win. We wanted to deliver it for the fans and lift the trophy. It is a club that has one of the best facilities, with the training ground and stadium. It can achieve what they want.”

His comments could easily annoy Chelsea fans, given the rivalry between the two clubs. In addition to that, Chelsea are going through a difficult patch right now and Pochettino’s future at the club seems uncertain.

The Argentine has been backed heavily during the summer transfer window, but he has not managed to get the best out of his players. Chelsea were expected to push for UEFA Champions League qualification this season but they are currently 11th in the league table with just nine wins from 23 league matches.

For a club with their stature and resources, it is simply unacceptable and it will be interesting to see if Chelsea can bounce back strongly and finish the season on a high.
