Club insider makes encouraging transfer claim ahead of the summer window

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur are gearing up for the upcoming transfer window with multiple targets in mind.

Reports indicate that Spurs are preparing to bring in a new forward during the summer.

On his official social media handle on X, reliable insider and correspondent Paul O’Keefe reports that the Lilywhites are prioritising signing an attacker and continuing their search for a winger and striker.

A fan responded that if the club signs Timo Werner on a permanent move next season, wouldn’t it hamper the chances of acquiring a new forward? To which the club insider responded, stating:

“Not related is the word.”

It implies that regardless of Tottenham securing Werner’s service permanently, they would still be targeting a forward for the summer.

There have been several attackers heavily linked with Spurs, including Barcelona right-winger Raphinha, Wolves’ right-winger Pedro Neto, and Brentford’s striker Ivan Toney.

The Lilywhites have a favourable opinion of Raphinha, being impressed by his performances during his time in the Premier League with Leeds United.

While the Portuguese international Neto is also high on Tottenham’s wishlist, Wolves are reportedly seeking around £80 million to facilitate the departure of their forward.

Spurs’ leadership feels that the valuation is roughly £10 million to £15 million above what they are prepared to offer.

Brentford’s striker Ivan Toney is also on the radar of the Lilywhites, with the Englishman’s contract set to expire in June of the following year.

Now it remains to be seen which star forward will end up joining Ange Postecoglou’s side next season.
