Levy To Double Centre Back’s Salary?

By The Boy -

German outlet Bild are reporting that THFC scouts watched German international Matthias Ginter as the national team drew 1-1 with Denmark.

Ginter is a right sided centre back also adept at playing right back which is something that might appeal to the wing back fixated Pochettino.

The scouts apparently met with Ginter’s agent after the game.

Bild suggest that Tottenham could double the Dortmund defender’s current salary, which is thought currently be in the region of €3.5million per annum.

This element, combined with the mention of Hoffenheim being interested does make on wonder if Champions League qualifiers Spurs aren’t being used to apply some gentle pressure upon one or more Bundesliga sides in order to improve the 23 year old’s finances.

Ginter may cost as much as €20million which – for those paying close attention to our supposed transfer targets – certainly fits into the loose change range Levy appears to be examining.

I have a nagging feeling that once this window closes, I’ll be left feeling a bit like the first time you go to bed realising that you’ve had a bit of a sh*t birthday. Not the end of the world, but you knew it wasn’t great.
