Good afternoon Gaylords.
Ross Barkley is apparently our number one target. The 23 year old is extremely keen to move out of Everton … and Spurs could just be the rising star he’s looking for.
Glad tells me that negotiations for Barkley aren’t fresh. We started talking to the Toffees some 18 months ago. Personal terms aren’t the issue.
One issue has been the extensive array of intermediaries the boy has picked up. The story from the Barkley camp is that Chelsea and Manchester City have made enquiries and both were politely turned down.
If Spurs were to be successful here, then the Klaessen move would certainly go for a Burton.
The fee quoted for Rossissimo is cool £25million which one would presume Everton are agreeable to accepting at a rate of £5.86 a week.
I think he’s precisely the type of player we don’t normally buy. A bit of a Milner, if you will. If we have serious title ambitions/don’t want to have our pants pulled down in front of the class again in Europe etc, then we should buy him and do so swiftly.
