Hugo Channels His Inner Gordon Banks [video]

By The Boy -

Tottenham are the first English side to win their home leg of a knockout tie against German opponents in the Champions League since Man Utd in the 2010-11 semi-final vs Schalke.

One of the contributing factors to this feat was this save by Hugo Lloris.

There’s been a steady stream of scorn for the World Winner, and most of it it richly deserved, however this save was breathtaking.

Improved distribution

Also worth mentioning that Hugo only fluffed 3 passes all night…

Viva la revolucion

I think we are both to blame but at least you got £50 out of it! I even knew beforehand I shouldn’t switch it on but I thought that having less than ten mins against a side like Bayern Munich there was no chance. I should have learnt from the final BM played against Man U in 99.
One thing that did just occur to me is if the scenario you gave happens but the arse are the team that finish fifth. That really would suck, a lot. It would offset their annoyance that we had won the competition and that would be really difficult to take.

It was – I feel that now too!

I thought it was my fault for going to the bookies and betting they would win. I thought with my luck there is no chance I would get money…I ended up £50 better off though, so soften the blow.

That definitely wouldn’t be funny. I remember switching that final on when they were 1-0 down with ten minutes to go to laugh at them, and the rest is history that I am still pretty pissed off about to this day. I feel like it was my fault for switching it on.

Great analysis.

Corbyn is leafleteer, not a politician.

McDonnell is a Marxist, Watson isn’t the required standard and as for Diane Abbott, I genuinely think she’s certifiable.

Still capable of world class saves.

Personally, I feel the writing off of Hugo and bigging up of Gazzaniga has been largely delusional and based on current form rather than permanent class.

If that 2nd half had been City or Liverpool the usual suspects would be creaming their pance this morning. Instead it’s all “well, they keep finding a way of nicking wins don’t they?”

Fuck off you cretins, we owned Dortmund in the second half, show a bit more respect.

While you’re at it get your tongues out of Klopp and Guardiola’s arses, and kindly stop mentioning Manure and Real Madrid after every Spurs victory. Wankers deserve a slap, especially Neville…

I was thinking last night, wouldn’t it be funny if Chelsea came 5th and we won the CL – thus giving them a route into the CL…considering all those years ago when we got 4th and they took it from us.

Agree, 2nd half was superb, confident, controlled and passionate…Does anyone else notice Poch seems to struggle praising Jan & Toby but tends to gush over Son & Kane..may just be me?

Anyway – A saw an interview with Jan where he built his own children’s hospital in his local town with his own money….Jan could go down as a legend so we need to give him that last big contract FFS!!! Not keeping him will be criminal…

Don’t want to get into politics on here…however, this happens all over politics. Its funny how the past is remembered and facts adjusted for agenda’s. The Labour party have one goal under Corbyn, and that is to undermine the Tories. Corbyn’s whole career has been around being the anarchist of politics. Standing against the norm. If he got into power, and had to actually deliver things he would collapse, so would the UK. He is a typical union leader (I am in a union and met many leaders and respect unions, but all of them have one thing in common, very easy to criticise but never suggest alternatives worth a damn). thatcher is another example, people blame her for her privatisation of the 80’s however, ignore why it was needed, the dire straights our country was in. I am not saying she didn’t go too far, she did, and I am not saying as times have changed we should reverse some of those, because we should, but at the time, she made what she felt was the right call for the right reasons due to an over spending labour government. Labour and Corbyn specifically are political parasites at this time, sucking away all chances of a successful parliament to make the others look bad.

Quick political diversion if I may?

John McDonell is an interesting character, never had a real job in his life yet gets to end up shadow chancellor.

We all know that Churchill was far from being a perfect human being, was an aristocrat and his political stance was hard line Tory. The Welsh mining dispute of 1910 was dealt with heavy handedly and would be unacceptable in this day and age, although how much Churchill was directly involved in that we don’t know exactly.

However, if asked if Stalin was a ‘hero or villain’ I’d be interested to see what McDonnell’s answer would be. Considering Stalin probably killed more people than Hitler, I’d like Corbyn and McDonell to expand on that and other particularly unpleasant aspects of Communism before enthusiastically jumping to dig up anything shady from Britain’s past.

Churchill’s status as a great patriot and leader during the war is a constant thorn in the side to the hard left, however you would expect some of them aged 67 to gain a little perspective and see the bigger picture. Rather than behave like an eternal student Morning Star reader.

Fellow labour MP Mo Mowlem voted Churchill greatest ever Briton when she was still around because of what he achieved during the war but admitted he was also flawed, who isn’t. Then again she wasn’t a stupid cunt, unlike Mc Donnell…

100% OM, the current Labour leadership got in on the back of their terrible election defeat under Miliband and filled the stinking vacuum left behind. Get a few middle class ‘hard-left’ students excited on social media, some old Trots come out of the woodwork and you see the party membership increase but that was it, it ended there.

Corbyn and McDonnel are both backbench career politicians who’s whole purpose was to criticise and undermine even their own party with their communist rhetoric. They are relics of world gone by and should be nowhere near modern mainstream politics. This Tory party are terrible and this Labour Party are equally bad but crucially run by people who would destroy the UK’s economy and put even more poor people in peril.

It figures that they won’t aim any criticism at Maduro in Venezuela, as long as you stick by the ‘little red book’ everything will be ok. Deluded cretins…

The one consistence in both halves was that Moura is poo…..the rest turned it around when Poch tweaked the back which helped the full backs and took pressure off Sissoko and Winks…

Will Poch be my Valentine do you think? 🤔 😍
