Former manager names two signings Spurs need to make in the upcoming transfer window

By Mehdi Gokal -

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood has suggested two changes he would like to see in Ange Postecoglou’s side come the January transfer window.

Following a reassuring 2-0 victory over Forest away from home this week, Spurs now have two back to back victories.

They are currently 5th in the table, just outside the top four with only a point short of the defending champions, Manchester City.

Despite all the injuries and setbacks, Postecoglou appears to have things under control as he approaches 2nd half of the season.

But the January transfer window is going to be crucial for Ange with several positions needing urgent attention.

Discussing Tottenham’s need to bolster the squad in the upcoming window, Sherwrood named two positions that needs to be addressed.

Speaking to Chris Cowlin’s YouTube channel, he said:

“If they strengthen in January I think they’re going to need [a] centre-back and maybe a creative midfield player just in case [James] Maddison picks up any more injuries.

“And I think they can go all the way to the top four this year and possibly the FA Cup, fingers crossed.”

The Australian has already admitted that the team needs to sign a new defender in the upcoming window.

And there is no doubt that another midfield is also needed, however, they might need a central midfielder considering Spurs will be without Bissouma and Sarr for almost a month and Skipp and Hojbjerg are not suitable for the way he wants his team to play.
