When Fabio Paratici took over the role as Managing Director of Football for Tottenham Hotspur, one task that the Italian club chief had to take care of this summer was improving the backline.
Paratici began by making additions such as bringing in Cristian Romero and Emerson Royal, but he also had to clear out players that had run their course with the north London-based club.
One of the players that had to exit was Serge Aurier. As the summer transfer window was about to close, Tottenham announced that both parties had reached an agreement to terminate the final year of his contract.
The 28-year-old remains a free agent, and the ex-Tottenham defender could be garnering interest from Real Madrid. According to Okdiario’s chief football pundit Eduardo Inda, who stated on the Spanish program El Chiringuito, Aurier is an option for Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.
With starting right-back Dani Carvajal out for a significant time, the Italian tactician needs a temporary solution. Perhaps bringing in a player he saw play in the Premier League could help fill that right-back void.
Madrid insist that he must attend Throw In College prior to signing him.
