David Ornstein reveals how much it will cost Tottenham to sign their top summer target

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur are actively planning their summer transfer window strategy following a successful January window, where they secured notable signings such as Timo Werner, Radu Dragusin, and Lucas Bergvall.

A key priority for Spurs in the upcoming transfer window is said to be bolstering their winger options, with Wolves’ Pedro Neto emerging as a top target on their wishlist.

Neto, who is currently contracted with Wolves until June 2027, has attracted significant interest from several Premier League clubs including Tottenham.

Recent reports suggest that Wolves may entertain offers for the Portuguese winger at the end of the season, despite his long-term contract, in order to fund other transfers.

However, according to the latest from The Athletic’s David Ornstein, they will be seeking around £80 million for their star attacker.

This proposed figure might not align with the expectations of the hierarchy in North London, as they could consider it excessive for a player whose current market value is €42 million on Transfermarkt.

Neto has been a consistent performer for Wolves this season under new manager, Gary O’Neil. He made a brilliant start to the campaign but faced a brief setback with a hamstring injury in October, which kept him sidelined for nearly two months.

The wide forward returned in December and has begun to regain his form. Neto impressed recently against Tottenham last Saturday when he embarked on a brilliant solo run, ultimately setting up Joao Gomes for the winning goal.

The tally for the former Braga player now stands at two goals and nine assists in 16 Premier League appearances this season, ranking him as the third-highest in the division for assists.

TBH Says:

There’s no denying Neto’s dynamic and explosive playing style. However, Spurs might not be willing to meet the high proposed bid from Wolves.

They might consider other options who are going to be available for much less, including Barcelona’s Raphinha, another player linked with the North London club.
