Concerns over Tottenham star’s future after fresh injury setback

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur’s summer signing, Manor Solomon, remains a concern for the club as injury setbacks prolong his absence from the pitch.

Shortly after his arrival in North London, the left-winger encountered a lengthy injury.

Solomon has been sidelined since October last year due to a meniscus injury to his right knee, which required surgery and an extensive recovery process.

Despite initial hopes for a swift return, the 24-year-old underwent another minor knee surgery, casting further uncertainty over his availability for the remainder of the season.

Former Spurs scout Bryan King raises doubts about Solomon’s future at the club.

King expressed sympathy for the player, acknowledging the challenges posed by recurrent injuries and their implications for the player’s career prospects.

Speaking to Tottenham News, he said:

“Solomon has a contract with Tottenham and they’re in no position to do anything until he is fit again.

“I feel sorry for him because it doesn’t look good if you’ve already been out for five months and then you require another operation.

“As good as the doctors and the surgeons are today, this will put a question mark over him.

“However, I don’t think anyone should be discussing anything until he gets himself fit and then people can pass a judgement over whether he is going to be part of Tottenham going forward or not.”

Solomon, in a recent update shared on his official Instagram account, acknowledged the frustration and challenges he has faced during his rehabilitation but remained determined to make a full recovery and return stronger than ever.

The Lilywhites secured Solomon’s services from Shakhtar Donetsk last summer on a free transfer, capitalising on a FIFA ruling that allowed foreign players in Russia and Ukraine to unilaterally suspend their contracts amid the conflict in the region.

Ange Postecoglou would hope to have the wide forward back soon, who managed to provide two assists in his brief playing time, totalling 198 minutes across 5 appearances in the Premier League this season.
