Blow for Tottenham: Doctor claims midfielder will not start against Crystal Palace

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso is unlikely to start against Crystal Palace.

That’s according to injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar, who has claimed that the player still lacks the required match fitness to start a game.

Lo Celso suffered a ‘complicated‘ injury in the beginning of January which saw him miss several games and only made his return as a substitute during the defeat against Wolves last week.

As per the doctor, the lack of fitness makes the player susceptible to a re-injury.

Speaking to Tottenham News, he said:

“He is severely lacking match fitness and will be more susceptible to re-injury.

“He is far from being 100 per cent so I do not see him starting a game until he has a couple of bounce games.

“He’s missed nearly six weeks of action with a muscle injury and the club will be careful behind the scenes to ensure he does not exert himself.“

Despite his limited playing time this season, Lo Celso has showcased some of his best performances in a Spurs shirt, contributing two goals and two assists in eleven league appearances.

He was strongly linked with a move to Galatasaray on Turkish deadline day but that did not materialise.

It has been recently reported that the Argentine has until the summer to prove himself. Otherwise, it is possible that he will be moved on.
