Baldini First Made Contact Last Month

By The Boy -

Swiss website Blick are claiming that initial discussions to facilitate Murat Yakin to replace André Villas-Boas, took place towards the end of last month.

Franco Baldini was at FC Basel’s 1-0 win over Chelsea on the 26th of November. And this Blick suggest is when the initial enquiry was made.

FC Basle President Bernhard Heusler has denied a formal approach has been made. So what’s happening? The options are straightforward. Maybe Yakin was disinterested in moving mid-season. Maybe he needs time to think; FC Basel are a point to the good at the top of the Swiss Super League.

Maybe, the plan is that Iago plugs the gap until the end of the season, when Yakin’s contract is up. And Levy can get him without compensating FC Basle.

This week’s show sees accomplished author Martin Cloake call in from the south, me call in from an unknown location in the north, with ODM doing his Denis Norden bit from one of his winter retreats. Probably some swingers lounge above an all night launderette in Whetstone.

The topic of the day of course is the demise of AVB, the elbows of Timothy Sherwood, and the culpability of Levy & Co. “Employers & Executioners To The Stars.”

Martin’s an invaluable character for Spurs fans to engage with. 35 years in the game and he’s documented so many of those decades in great books. Glory Glory Nights is but one.

The list of AVB replacements creaks, the fans groan and the real question has to be, why the flip does this keep happening to us?

Answers on a postcard.

Martin Cloake is this week’s extra special guest on HHH!
