ENIC Deserving Of Public Excoriation & Condemnation

By The Boy -

The dishonesty and the inertia has inspired some superb posts of late.

This from our very own coys1882, an explosive debut.

Levy has 4 days left to salvage this pitiful shambles of a transfer window.

If the news is true, regarding selling Alderweireld in an all cash deal to Utd and not getting Martial in return, then it is a spineless capitulation on Levy’s part and there is no amount of ‘spin’ that can position it any other way.

The ‘penny pinching’/ tightwad act, with disingenuous protestations of poverty, from the ENIC double team of Lewis and Levy, has surely, finally, been exposed for the abject fraud that it is.

This off-season, the impending move to the new stadium and a considerably enhanced revenue stream for the club, represented a perfect opportunity for the management group to make a real statement of intent about THFC competing as a ‘big’ club.

To be ‘brave’, as Poch had exhorted, to make a couple of stellar player acquisitions that really sent out a message to our rivals.

The upshot? Nothing! Not a single f—ing player purchased and the prospect of one of the few world class players on our books being sold off to strengthen one of our closest EPL rivals, with nothing in return.

Whilst Levy’s performance this off season has been staggeringly inept, the real culprit is Lewis.

For all of Levy’s visibility as the front man/figurehead of the management group, it is Lewis who controls the purse strings and sets the budget.

A man with a personal net worth approaching $5 billion, who resides in tax exile, on a $150 million dollar luxury yacht, yet has somehow contrived to invest a paltry $18 million (14 million GBP) of net profit, garnered from ENIC/Tavistock group’s ownership of THFC, back into the team in the last 5 years.

This represents the lowest net expenditure on new player acquisition of ANY team currently in the EPL over the last 5 years (excluding newly promoted teams). A damning indictment of the singular lack of ambition this ownership group has in putting a winning product on the field.

Frankly Poch has worked miracles on a shoestring budget to achieve three consecutive top three finishes.

This fact alone has saved ENIC from the public excoriation and condemnation their lack of investment deserves.

There should be no saving them this time.
