A spot of housekeeping. Some fans don’t apply critical thought to their discussions about football. So, after yesterday’s game, in respect of Dejan himself, I noted numerous examples of calling out of those that had been less than impressed with his previous cameo.
It is perfectly normal to respond to what one sees. If a player is less than brilliant one week and much improved the next, it’s quite acceptable to have differing opinions. No need to scream, I told you he was dynamite! at people. That’s the behaviour of a nitwit.
As it happens, Kulu had an exceptional game, this time out, he did fizzle out a little over the course of his 79 minutes, but he was great value.
Beyond the truly fine goal (above) his general play was eye-catching.
Just two misplaced passes gave the Swede a 94% passing accuracy, which for such a forward-lying player, is amazing.
This was compounded by his ability to keep the ball. The former Juventus player only lost possession on half a dozen occasions.
The dribbling prowess of the 21-year-old also caused chaos for Leeds.
Kulu looked sharper, fitter, and moved with greater authority. More, please…
An observation more than anything but it seems to me that Kulu is far more economical with possession than Moura who may probably sees more of the ball and looks busier but is far less productive.
Only Emerson sucked against Leeds, worth filing that for the final verdict of very fakin guilty…
It genuinely seems like Kulu has all the tools, although I would hate to ‘jinx’ him! He has got considerable physicality (unlike Bryan Gil), he works hard, has excellent technique and seems like a very versatile and ‘smart’ footballer. He could prove to be an inspired signing, time will tell.
Either way, Paratici seems to be learning quickly that very few players with the physique of a Bryan Gil, will thrive in English football, it’s just too physical of a league. The likes of David Silva, Luke Modric, etc are rare exceptions, not the rule.
Kulu and Bentancur certainly have the physicality and the technique to be top players for us. The Uruguayan just needs to get more accustomed to the tempo of English football and realise you don’t have the time on the ball like you do in La Liga. More signings like those two please!
Dijon was mustard…I’ll get my goat..
Did Contes outburst after the Burnley game have a positive impact on the Leeds result
More useful to judge a player at the seasons end. I remember Bergwijn started off like a train on fire.
