Tottenham Hotspur signed James Maddison from Leicester City at the start of the season.
The 26-year-old England international has hit the ground running at the North London club and he has been outstanding for them.
Maddison has created several goalscoring opportunities for his teammates and he has managed to get on the score sheet himself as well. The England international has had a direct hand in seven goals in the Premier League so far and he will be looking to build on his impressive start to life at the London club.
According to 90 Min (h/t TBR Football) who have ranked the top 20 players of the season so far, Maddison is 11th in the standings. The Tottenham signing was chosen ahead of the likes of Declan Rice, William Saliba and Lionel Messi.
The report from 90 Min claims that he has been the Premier League signing of the summer.
Maddison was already one of the best attacking midfielders in the league during his time at Leicester City and he seems gone onto another level since joining Tottenham.
Spurs are an impressive form right now and they are at the top of the Premier League table. Maddison is certainly one of the reasons why they have done so well this season. It remains to be seen whether the 26-year-old can help them compete for the league title this season and get them back into the UEFA Champions League.
