Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to part ways with midfielder Giovani Lo Celso as they aim to revamp their midfield options.
According to Football Insider, Spurs have significantly lowered their asking price for the Argentine international, now willing to let him go for £10 million.
Lo Celso, who has a contract with Tottenham running until June 2025, has attracted interest from several clubs, including Real Betis, where he previously played, and Aston Villa in the Premier League.
Tottenham are eager to secure a permanent transfer for Lo Celso this summer to avoid the risk of losing him on a free transfer next year.
Lo Celso’s tenure at Tottenham has been hindered by injuries and inconsistent performances, limiting his impact on the team.
Last season, he made only four Premier League starts out of 22 appearances, contributing two goals and two assists under manager Ange Postecoglou.
Initially joining Spurs on loan from Real Betis in 2019, Lo Celso’s move was later made permanent.
Despite the high expectations that accompanied his arrival, he has struggled to establish himself as a key player within the squad.
With the transfer window still open, Tottenham are actively seeking a buyer for Lo Celso.
The club hopes that his departure will provide them with the financial flexibility to reinvest in the squad and sign players who align more closely with their current tactical and strategic needs.
