The distractions that Premier League sides faced have fallen away one by one. The transfer market, which is so vital to most clubs, has finished interfering with and distracting the players. The agents will retire to their offices, and we all get back to the core business of focusing on what needs to be done.  Another summer is over, and the first chills of September remind us that autumn is well on its way, and very soon the pundits will be talking of Christmastime in the same tones they always do. The end of the year tells us how a side is preparing for the charge to the finish line next year.

Some very welcome distractions, like a casino, with top-tier online entertainment, whether you’re chasing big thrills on the latest and greatest slot releases, enjoying the timeless appeal of classic table games, or exploring new and immersive live casino adventures, are now all gone. We are already a few games in, and fans are weighing up what they make of their club’s summer spending.

Departures like Solomon, Gil, and Reguilon reflect a squad trim to align with Frank’s vision. However, missing out on targets like Eze and Gibbs-White highlights competitive challenges in the market
Xavi Simons (an attacking Midfielder, from RB Leipzig, £51.8m): The 22-year-old Netherlands international signed a long-term contract, bringing creativity with 22 goals and 24 assists in 78 appearances for Leipzig. His ability to create chances (2.2 per 90 minutes) and deliver through balls makes him a key addition to address our attacking needs.

Confirmed signings included: Randal Kolo Muani (a forward, on loan from Paris Saint-Germain): Secured on a season-long loan to bolster the forward line. Mohammed Kudus (an attacker, from West Ham, £55m): A significant signing to enhance Tottenham’s attacking options.

Joao Palhinha (a midfielder, on loan from Bayern Munich with €25m option to buy): Adds defensive solidity to the midfield. Mathys Tel (a forward, €35m): A young, promising addition to the squad.
Kevin Danso (a defender, €25m): Strengthens the defensive unit. Kota Takai (a centre-back, from Kawasaki Frontale, €6m): A Japanese international to bolster the backline.

Confirmed departures consisted of: Manor Solomon (Winger, on loan to Villarreal CF): Moved for the 2025/26 season after links with Leeds United and Crystal Palace. Bryan Gil (a winger, permanent transfer to Girona): Left for La Liga to seek regular playing time.

Luka Vuskovic (a defender, on loan to Hamburg SV): Young centre-back sent on loan for the 2025/26 season. Mikey Moore (a forward, on loan to Glasgow Rangers): Signed a new long-term contract with Tottenham before heading out for the 2025/26 season.

Alfie Devine (a midfielder, on loan to Preston): Extended his contract before a loan move to the Championship with an option to buy.

Sergio Reguilon (a defender, released): Free to find a new club after his contract ended. Alfie Whiteman (a goalkeeper, released): Left after one senior appearance, despite contributing to Spurs’ 2024/25 Europa League win.

Under Thomas Frank, Tottenham are focusing on adding creativity and depth, with Xavi Simons and Mohammed Kudus addressing the void left by injuries to players like James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski. The loan signings of Kolo Muani and Palhinha provide flexibility, while young talents like Mikey Moore and Alfie Devine are being developed through loans.
