Tottenham ready to meet Stuttgart asking price for South American forward

Tottenham is reportedly closing in on signing Nico Gonzalez from Stuttgart after agreeing to meet the German side’s asking price.

The Argentinean has been one of Spurs targets for the last year and they are keen to get a deal done over his transfer soon.

The attacker has been attracting the attention of other clubs in Europe and one of the most serious of them is Fiorentina.

The Italians have promised to back their new manager, Gennaro Gattuso, with top signings and he is one of them.

They are a serious competition to Tottenham and Sky Sports Italia reports that Fiorentina has offered Stuttgart 22m euros plus three more in bonuses, but the Germans want 25m euros straight.

This fee might be too much for the Italians to pay, but Spurs have agreed to meet it.

They have just made Fabio Paratici their director of football and Gonzalez might become his first signing.

However, Spurs are yet to name a new manager and it remains unclear if he would be part of their next boss’ plans.

Reports have tipped Paulo Fonseca to become the next manager, and Gonzalez might need to speak with him on how he fits into his plans for next season before agreeing to join the Lilywhites.

I reckon with all the stadium income buying us world class players we will win The Carabao Cup round about 2034.

The last manager knew what he wanted and by all accounts he did. We ended up getting some aweful football. But backing the manager is a cool catch phase until Levy stop picking and managing the game.

Really? This is not what the ticket prices suggest. Florentina were the other takers? This is the level the new stadium has brought. We had better players coming at WHL.
