Tottenham player offered to PL side in January could still leave the club

Brazilian midfielder Lucas Moura has been linked with a move away from Tottenham Hotspur.

The 30-year-old attacking midfielder will be a free agent at the end of the season and he was expected to leave Tottenham hotspot during the January transfer window.

According to football insider, the player was offered to Everton last month but the move did not materialise.

Apparently, Spurs hoping to sell him for a nominal price so that they can avoid losing him on a free transfer. Moura could still depart the London club this month with the transfer window still open in certain countries.

The 30-year-old has been a key player for Tottenham since joining the club and he helped them challenge for the Premier League title and reach the finals of the UEFA Champions League under former manager Mauricio Pochettino.

However, he has dropped down the pecking order this season and he is no longer a key starter for Antonio Conte.

The arrival of compatriot Richarlison and the Swedish winger Dejan Kulusevski has pushed the 30-year-old down the pecking order at the London club and he needs to leave in order to play regularly.

The 30-year-old has been linked with the return to Brazil as well. It will be interesting to see if Moura can secure a move away from Tottenham before the winter transfer window closes in other countries.

Despite being 30, the Brazilian has the quality to operate at a high level and he could improve a number of teams.

Meanwhile, Tottenham already have impressive depth in the attacking department, especially after the arrival of Arnaut Danjuma during the January transfer window.

It Is evident that the Brazilian is unlikely to get ample first-team opportunities during the second half of the campaign and it makes sense for him to leave the Premier League club this month.
