Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg appears poised for a summer departure from North London, with strong interest coming from Turkish giants Galatasaray, among other clubs.
According to Turkish media outlet Takvim, the Danish international is expected to make a decision regarding his future after July 15, once the European Championship concludes.
Currently, Hojbjerg is with the Denmark national team in Germany, fully focused on the tournament before addressing his club situation.
Reports suggest that Hojbjerg has attracted offers from several clubs, notably Galatasaray and their rivals Fenerbahce.
The midfielder’s potential move has been a subject of speculation for several months, and it appears increasingly likely that he will part ways with Tottenham this summer.
Despite making 36 appearances last season, Hojbjerg started only 21% of Premier League games, primarily coming off the bench, according to Transfermarkt.
This limited playing time underlines why Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has reportedly approved Hojbjerg’s sale, as the midfielder does not fit into his long-term plans for the squad.
Former Spurs manager Jose Mourinho, now at Fenerbahce, has also shown keen interest in reuniting with the 28-year-old.
Mourinho’s admiration for Hojbjerg could facilitate a move to Turkey, with both Galatasaray and Fenerbahce vying for his signature.
With Hojbjerg’s contract set to expire in June next year, Tottenham have set a £20 million asking price for the former Bayern Munich player. Selling Hojbjerg would provide essential funds for Spurs as they look to bolster their squad for the upcoming season.
