Tottenham official departs after spilling club transfer secrets to the media

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur scout Jeff Vetere has chosen to walk away from the Premier League after it appeared that the 57-year-old publicly revealed Tottenham transfer targets.

The Tottenham scout’s unprofessional behaviour has angered the club hierarchy.

According to a report from Daily Mail, the Tottenham scout had an interview with Win sports TV during a scouting trip in Colombia.

Apparently, the Premier League club’s scout spilled the details of the internal workings of the Tottenham recruitment department and the club hierarchy had called for a meeting to discuss his future. However, Vetere only joined the club in September and has chosen to resign after his unprofessional behaviour.

The 57-year-old was appointed by the club’s sporting director Fabio Paratici despite being out of work in football since 2018. he was on probation at the London club and Vetere would have been sacked had he not decided to leave the club.

Vetere has previously worked with clubs like Newcastle United, Real Madrid and West Ham United. He was a chief scout at Premier League club Aston Villa as well.

Meanwhile, the 57-year-old shares a close relationship with Fabio Paratici and that was the main reason why he was appointed at the Premier League club. Vetere is reportedly an unpopular figure among the Tottenham staff. He was brought in to scout and secure the services of the top emerging talents in world football.
