Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing the Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita at the end of the season.
According to a report from Fichajes, Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the 28-year-old midfielder on a free transfer
Apparently, Spurs would ‘be willing to have him in their squad’ and they ‘are not willing to pass up the opportunity’ to sign him on a bargain.
Keita will be a free agent at the end of the season and the Guinea midfielder has not managed to agree on a new contract with Liverpool yet. The Reds reportedly tried to agree on an extension with the player, but the two parties failed to come to an agreement
The former RB Leipzig midfielder has impressed at Liverpool from time to time, but his career at the Premier League club has been plagued with injuries.
There is no doubt that the former Bundesliga midfielder is a top-class player on his day, but his availability has been a major concern for Liverpool so far.
It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can convince the player to join them on a free transfer
Keita will be hoping to prove his worth in the Premier League after an underwhelming spell with Liverpool so far and a move to Tottenham could be an interesting opportunity for him.
Tottenham need to add more depth to their midfield and Keita will bring a different skill set to Antonio Conte’s side. The 28-year-old is an outstanding passer and he will add flair and creativity in the middle of the park as well. Furthermore, the Liverpool ace can help out defensively and he could be the complete package for Tottenham if he manages to stay fit.
