Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the RB Leipzig centre-back Josko Gvardiol.
The 20-year-old has established himself as a key player for the German club since joining them.
A report from Calciomercato claims that Spurs like the player a lot.
Gvardiol is highly rated around Europe and Spurs are not the only club looking to sign him. Chelsea, Juventus, Barcelona, Liverpool and Manchester City are reportedly keen on the player as well.
A report from TuttoJuve claims that Chelsea are frontrunner to sign the 20-year-old at the end of the season.
It will be interesting to see if Spurs can fend off the competition from their Premier League rivals and secure his services.
Gvardiol can play in a back four as well as a back three. He could be a superb addition to Antonio Conte’s defence.
Spurs need to bring in a quality partner for Cristian Romero and the Croatian international seems like an ideal fit.
The Londoners have been reliant on Eric Dier, Clement Lenglet and Davinson Sánchez as a partner for Romero this season. However, all three players have proven to be unreliable and error-prone.
Conte needs to bring in an upgrade in the coming months and Gvardiol seems like a superb long-term investment.
He has the potential to develop into a top-class player and a world-class manager like Conte could help him fulfil his potential.
The 20-year-old is already playing at a high level and he could make an immediate impact at Spurs.
