‘…these clubs are’ –Granit Xhaka makes a surprising comment about Spurs’ transfer activity

By Mehdi Gokal -

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has given a surprisingly honest verdict on Tottenham’s transfer business this summer claiming that it will only make the competition tougher for his side.

Arsenal missed out on the final Champions League spot last season after being beaten to it by Antonio Conte’s side. Now with Spurs and Chelsea both considerably strengthening their teams this summer, the Swiss international conceded that the battle for the top 4 will be even fiercer this season.

When asked about Tottenham and Chelsea’s transfer business, he told Hayters TV:

“Yeah, every year will be tougher and tougher, because all of these clubs are spending money. But us as well.

“This is the Premier League, you have six, seven or eight teams who anything can happen.”

“I like the competition and the challenge. We want to take it and I believe that we will be ready at the start of the season.”

Arsenal have been quite busy this window themselves, having already signed Gabriel Jesus, Fabio Vieira, Marquinhos, and Matt Turner. They are also reportedly working on signing Manchester City’s Oleksandr Zinchenko according to The Athletic. But the Gunners definitely need to add some more players if they want to keep up with their two main rivals, Tottenham and Chelsea.
