‘there is a growing chance…’: Journalist expects Tottenham bid for 23-year-old this month

By Saikat -

Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher continues to be linked with a move away from the club this month.

Tottenham Hotspur have been mentioned as a potential destination and journalist Dean Jones has revealed that there is a growing chance that Tottenham could submit an offer to sign the 23-year-old midfielder.

“Tottenham are surprised that this one has been able to linger on. They thought a contract would be signed by now, and he’d be out of reach. But it hasn’t happened, and because of that, I think there is a growing chance that they will go and put a bid in for Gallagher. But we should understand that if that bid goes in, it means that there have been intermediaries testing it out to see whether he is gettable.”

The England international was expected to sign a new contract with Chelsea in recent weeks, but the two parties have not been able to reach an agreement. Naturally, there have been speculations surrounding his future at Stamford Bridge, and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham can take advantage of the situation and sign him this month.

It is no surprise that Tottenham are looking to bring in a quality young central midfielder like Gallagher. He could be a long-term asset for them and he would add energy, drive, and defensive cover to the side.

Gallagher is well settled in the Premier League and he could make an immediate impact at Tottenham if he joins the club this month.

The North London outfit have done well strenghthen their squad with the signings of Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin. They could certainly use a quality midfielder now, and the signing of Gallagher would wrap up a hugely impressive window.

Tottenham will be desperate for Champions League qualification and the 23 year-old Chelsea midfielder could make a big difference for them during the second half of the season.
