Bobby would have scored more with better service, we didn’t feed him properly. He was also in the twilight of his career. Felt sorry for him because his confidence was shot in the end. His next seasons at Villareal he wasn’t great back in Spain.

Aye big differences to the leagues and players.. Vlahovic is only 21 and better than Vince and Bobby Soldier put together.. He’s a big match player and doesn’t let the crowd boos get to him. The Fiorentina lot jeered him for 3 games because he said he’s leaving. He just kept on scoring. They soon went back to cheering him.

Coutinho would have been just the ticket, just what we need in the front three or behind Kane and Son. Unless Paratici had something else up his sleeve. I give up, Levy is just insufferable…

Eh? The League Cup in 2008 was Arsenal in the semi over two legs 1-1 at their place and the ‘famous’ 5-1 in the second leg. Then we beat Chelsea in the final.

We didn’t play Burnley in that semi and Pav didn’t arrive until the following summer. 🤔

Baldini put Roma back on the map..it was is and remains his club…he had a great time with the Bale money..he also sold the sociopath Osvaldo to Soton Lamella to us and another to PSG and wiped out Roma’s €40 million debt , they got a new stadium and finished 2 nd the following season ..Meanwhile Dr Strangelove was followed round by a fire extinguisher operative as it took months for the smoke to evacuate his @rse.

It’s that or being fed through a straw locked in a cupboard next to the engine room Daniel…and 123 your back..your right..Bereton Diaz then ..otherwise it’s the wheely bins full of failures waiting for Levy’s ping ping balls to hit home..I’ve won I ve won..like goldfish at a fair.

Traore getting an absolute hammering on 5Live, two ex players saying he is a a really risky buy. Hoping he could be another Victor Moses is delusional.

I realise this but we are linked with many Serie A players Kessie ..Paratici links the Juve guy etc .
All other leagues are different to the Prem I just don’t see us in that market…bar Lingard on loan..land the aforementioned Traore that Barca ( lol) are chasing..

The smart move would be loans even a loan swap to get a fresh face in I’d take right now. Icardi for Dele must be a goer.
but your right we seem to be hanging out who we can get on a free so I hope we get Kessie then

Vlahovic? Sadly Lingard on free transfer is going to be about the extent of it. Levy still sniffing around the bargain-bucket like a fly around sh*t… 🤔

It’s always a tricky one with strikers transferring form from one country to another. Which is why buying clubs like to see the player do it consistently over a few seasons first. Also do it with big club pressure first, preferably.

Soldaldo was prolific in the Spanish top flight but couldn’t score for toffee in the Premiership. Although much depends on the player’s attributes, Soldaldo’s game for example just wasn’t applicable in England.

Just heard a guy on 5Live talking about Spurs transfers that Spurs have no money and that if Traore does come it will be a loan to buy deal.

If that’s what’s happening I think Conte will see there is no future for him. What a set up, what a way to run a supposedly big club.

Bottom line: We will not spend £70m+ on this guy (or any guy) unless we get that or more for Kane early this summer.

I’d be interested to know how much of this statement is based on you being an avid follower of Serie A football, vs how much is online hype you’ve bought into.

I have watched a bit of Serie A recently (not a lot mind you) and the difference in the way the game plays is chalk and cheese compared to the prem.

29/ this year..Jose set up to provide Kane with goa scoring opportunities. I’m not knocking Kane but he is getting older has taken knocks and given how tight the club is a replacement and how to finance that needs to thought about now,

Kane is an established international who does it at the highest level and has done for multiple seasons. For Spurs now without a decent playmaker too.

Incidentally 2 of the best strikers ever to play in England came from the Dutch league; Van Nistlelrooy and Suarez.
I read somewhere that Dusan will go for £70-80m next summer and expects a weekly wage of £300,000 per month and CL football. Forget him to Spurs and possibly Arsenal too. This has the Manchester clubs written all over it.
Levy would have nightmares just contemplating it!

I’d point think Dusan would be back up to Kane , would be part of the big goodbye. Dusan can finish and given Kanes recent howlers Deles recent howlers v LFC and Sons recent howlers there is a lot to be said for that.
If Traore is to be turned into a man who can hit double top with every cross merely by looking at Conte think what Antonio can do for Dusan..back up for Kane would be Bereton Diaz out of Blackburn and by back up I mean he comes on most games he plays in the cups and starts in the absence of other forwards ..I realise he wouldn’t be considered elite but which of our players is ?

And what about Soldado? It’s not guaranteed he’d be a success in the PL. Serie A is very different, much slower pace. Besides forget him he’s not coming, Levy would never fund it in a million years. Anyway who is the playmaker that would serve him?

I wonder how many great players playing abroad are home grown which we could buy, if it’s an English player you add so much more on the transfer fee.

There’s a big difference between Italian and Dutch leagues, also Dusan is again scoring goals in season 2 for an average mid table side

Perhaps over one season now but why we didn’t go for Ollie Watkins or Danny Ings is beyond me. Watkins especially would have been a great understudy to Kane and Ings great rotation, both know the English game well.
If Vlahovic goes to Arse and doesn’t live up to expectations I’ll love it.

My only slight concern re Dusan is he’s only done it for one season so far and this is a completely new league. Janssen was similar in that he banged in goals non stop for a season but found it very hard going over here, as did Soldado. they both also looked amazing on youtube.
A part of me says buy English this time around, we’ve been burned by Soldado and Janssen, we should learn from our mistakes.

I think you have something there. I believe Levy never trusted any scout or recruitment guru after Baldini’s disastrous magnificent eight.

That’s when decided he could do the job himself. He is a secretive man and rarely gives interviews but he is on record as saying the day he lives for is the last day of the transfer windows when the phones are red hot and he and his son, that other football genius, are in the office wheeling and dealing

I’ve watched Vlahovic and he is brilliant.. Watch his goals on youtube, or watch any Fiorentina game and the lads impressive.. I couldn’t choose between him and Haaland.. We don’t want the gooners signing him that’s for sure. I’ve been shouting his name out since last season, now everyone is. He was also reported recently to be Contes top target… My heart sinks to see the web flooding with ‘Vlahovic to Arsenal’, and ‘Traore to Spurs’.

We would be limited in the number of foreign mercenaries we buy because of the home grown ruling. This is made more restrictive when you consider that,of the players we ideally want shot of,quite a few are home grown and would need replacing by the same.

Totally agree legoverlass, always window shopping, but rarely stopping to buy springs to mind. Another sad thing is, this is now the normal for us and things never seem to change. Of all the duff managers, crap players, over rated players and over paid players, there is one common denominator, Daniel Levy. Why have we employed a bunch of foreign mercenaries, to spend the clubs money, on foreign mercenary players? Not a British player even being thought of by this new setup. These foreign players do not understand the history, the rivalry and the legacy of our club, all they understand is the £££££££££. Get ENIC and Levy out and get someone in that has Tottenham in their blood in. COYS.

How we’ve let Coutinho end up at Villa without even attempting to sign him is unbelievable. Two weeks in and not a player in sight. I’ll wager we don’t sign anyone.

We haven’t a hope in hell of signing Vlahovic. We can’t even sign Traore after 2 windows when his price has halved. All we do is dither. I reckon Levy changed our bank account details before he swanned off on his holiday, and Paratici is having to sell players first, probably having a whip round to see how much he can raise for transfers.
What a farce.

Well here we are approaching the middle of the month. Lots of chatter from the club once again about being “interested” “ looking at” “ considering an offer” “ in talks with” “ keen on “ “ I have heard” or PR spin from the usual sources at the club but not action. If the situation with Conte was any different from those previous managerial souls who have drunk from the poison chalice of ENIC and Levy it would not be unreasonable to assume that a meeting to discuss transfers for January would have taken place in December and Levy would have popped across to speak with Uncle Joe then so that come the beginning of the New Year we could have shown real ambition and purpose to build on the momentum of the work Conte had been doing. Especially knowing full well that we would be facing Chelsea three times and Arsenal once at home during that period. Yet here we are yet again with the wheels coming off , Conte beginning to look and sound like those gone before, Levy conveniently away with Uncle Joe, Paratici doing what exactly? The likelihood that we will be dumped out of the League Cup semi final on Wednesday, more than likely beaten by Chelsea and Arsenal yet again in the league to take the steam out of any CL spot aspirations and once again giving the bragging rights to our local rivals and their supporters while conceding yet another defeat at the billion dollar multi event complex. I have said all along that the January transfer window will give a good indication of the ambition of the club under Conte and it is not looking promising at the moment.
