Both Arsenal and Tottenham will be disappointed with where they are in the league this year, and it looks like Arsenal are more focused on the Europa League; I don’t think they’re too fussed about their position in the Premier League now.
Spurs still have a chance of getting into that top four and under Jose Mourinho they’re always going to have a chance of getting in there. Things seem to have turned a corner for Spurs though, they’ve had Harry Kane and Heung-min Son fit and firing all season but now Gareth Bale is rediscovering some form – so for the rest of the team it’s about just getting the ball to those three as much as possible.
Spurs’ defence still worries me. I don’t think the back four ever looks solid, and not only that but I don’t even think you could look at that team and guess who is going to be playing where for them. I think Mourinho is unsure of them and I wouldn’t be surprised if he improves that area in the summer.
I look at that Spurs defence and I think they’re always likely to give opponents chances. If I was playing I’d be thinking Davinson Sanchez is always likely to give me an opportunity. Serge Aurier looks like he’s always going to give away a penalty. I don’t think Eric Dier has had a fantastic season. None of the back four have been consistent enough so for me this summer is all about going out and getting a couple of defenders in who are going to come and do a job week-in, week-out.

A good point re Toby-Dav connection.
In Dier’s case he just isn’t good enough, language doesn’t come into it. Sanchez has played well recently and has upped his game alongside Toby.
I watched Sanchez presser and was really surprised at his English considering how long he’s been with us. Always looks better alongside Toby? Toby spent a couple seasons at Atletico , so if he is banging away in Spanish at Davinson, maybe thats why he plays better alongside Toby? CB’s are best as pairs if Dier n Sanchez struggle to get the message across to each other … perhaps that explains why as a pair they dont impress. COYS
Walker made more mistakes than Aurier, just had even more pace/athleticism
Reg is a better crosser of the ball and is at least as fast. Danny was probably stronger. As for Davies, well there is no comparison to either prime Rose or Reguilon now.
He’s a different player who probably prefers being the left CB in a back three.
It was the beginning of the end for poor ol Danny boy sadly. Seeing his mate pick up a PL winners medal before the season had even ended and upped his wages considerably broke the poor boy.
On point! Every position in defence downgraded since then. I would even dare to say that prime Rose was a better than Reggy or Davies.
Think Bobby’s a bit late to the party… Our defence started its downward trajectory when Kyle Walker left for City ….
