The comments plugin we know and love is no longer supported by the maker.
We therefore have 2 options and 2 options only.
- Keep the existing system and use the QUOTE facility.
- Use Disqus
We tried Disqus previously and it wouldn’t be unkind to suggest that few bothered to read the instructions, and many just didn’t bother to even attempt to use it.
Isn’t there a magic 3rd option? After all, there are many other plugins out there.
Regrettably many are not compatible with this blog. I spent a good while testing alternatives and this is where we are.

With Disqus you only need to log in once, then click on an icon the second time onwards.
Disqus is the biggest system on planet Earth, mate, maybe Google them?
As for new contributors who cannot be bothered to sign up – fuck ’em.
Maybe I didn’t read the instructions correctly but with Disqus i had to log in each time and go through that “not a robot”multy choice test.Drove me mad.
Like Paul I like the thread to continue for each posting and not shoot to the top of the comments section. It will be interesting once the games kick off.
If the vote goes against us 52% to 48% you know what to do?
How do people do that? Bring other comments into their comments . Fuck knows. You good at spelling good at punctuation good at I T bastards. ??
I voted Boris but then im fecking mad.
Disqus.
My comments don’t had ever work now I’m back in Australia. This one included probably
I use Disqus for other forums so found it very good to be able to switch between them, do have to put up with voting up and down though.
Discus is probably the largest and most successful system on earth.
It’s beyond me why it caused so many problems last time.
Disqus” never could get any real distance with that thing. Javelin now a different ting. Must be the “spear chucker” in me. ? gotta go under the earth later to Ealing. Central line the deep hot one. I never cycle that far using main roads. Putting your life on offer mate. I bet bale scores the winner against us.
How is disqus with respect to privacy ?
If there is no revelation or distribution of email addresses or other personal info, I’d give it a go.
However, any type of forum that requires any sort of registry will chase many potential new contributors, at least in my opinion. I do not know much at all about the process for using disqus, or whether registry would be required.
I think the point is more that people will read they just won’t bother to respond due to the ‘quote’ thing, ergo we have almost zero interaction with this system.
If you want to respond to me then you now have to quote the entire back and forth so far which just gets bigger and bigger as the conversation progresses – now imagine trying to deal with this during a match, just won’t happen and if it does every reply, getting larger and larger goes straight to the top of the blog rather than remaining as it should as a continuation of a local conversation further down the blog.
Vote Disqus.
Nope. For below.
I didn’t like discqus to begin with but came to be ok with it. Personally i’m voting for that because it maintains the ability to make direct replies to individual posts which was always half the fun for me and i suspect maybe a lot of others. Imho this current system promotes fire and forget single posts with little interaction and no BAHNTAAAH. Might seem ok for now but once the season gets underway i think it will be shite.

Perfect example is this specific blog…you will probably never read this.
Just trying to link something. Let me see if I got it right. Here goes
Personally I like Disqus, you can reply, and don’t have to log in every time. however, I would much rather what ever has more people talking.
