Mourinho Favourite in Premier League Sack Race

By The Boy -

LADBROKES HAVE REVEALED THE FOUR FRONTRUNNERS in the Premier League Sack Race.

After suffering their eighth defeat of the season last weekend, Tottenham find themselves ninth in the table and are now nine points off the top four – which has led to the bookies slashing odds to just 9/4 on José Mourinho being the next boss sent packing.

Elsewhere, Steve Bruce and Roy Hodgson are 4/1 apiece in the betting, ahead of Jürgen Klopp at 6/1, while every other name is currently 12/1 or bigger.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes told Harry Hotspur: “It’s been a fascinating market to keep an eye on since Frank Lampard was sent packing and while Jürgen Klopp’s odds shorten with every defeat, as things stand it’s José Mourinho who leads the way in the Sack Race betting.”

They can’t buy a win right now, if they’re trying then they just can’t be very good, can they?

There has to be a sense of disillusionment amongst the players now, but I doubt they have given up, Mourinho came with the emphasis of changing the mentality to increase the chances of winning trophies. The style of play and poor form must however be leaving the players with plenty to think about.

If we carry on losing like this it’s surely not fair on the players or management to continue.

It feels like something has snapped, when we were top of the league the team was playing as we came to expect under Jose. Not to everyone’s taste but the players were doing it and it was generally working more often than not.

It just looks like players and staff have given up, they’re back in the malaise that led to Poch’s (unfair) sacking. Where a rebuild is required and bargain bucket signings and gaffer tape won’t fix the sinking ship for long.

Levy’s disregard for the need to back the management over the last three years or so has been nothing short of disgraceful…
