I’ve been criticizing JM’s ‘park the bus’ mentality recently, and going against the ‘Harry Hotspur Vibe’ of ‘JM is the bees knees’… but… (putting helmet on and readying for the abuse)… I thought this was a good performance bar conceding 3 soft goals. It was entertaining football, we should have won (except for those minutes of madness near the end of the first half). Those moments where players ‘switch off’ aren’t Jose’s fault per se. I don’t know why the players (even the Vikings) seem to have these switch off moments and maybe JM could stick a cattle prod up the a%se of anyone that does that in training… but otherwise this was a good performance against a good team
If the cupboard remains empty of medals and silverware I fear the best players will leave to clubs that guarantee success on a regular basis. Who wouldn’t?
Winks coming on was the turning of the tide… Maureen has to stop using him for big games. Same as Dele. I would say Davies too.
Even in the 90s we had great players. And in Levys first ten years. Lineker.Gazza.Sheringham i adored in the 90s… Kane is unreal and we have a handful of good players… But 5 or 6 good players out of a full squad is poor. The other 20 odd are not good enough.. Lo celso returns are poor he’s injured more than pammy. Too many poor players let us down, davies winks dele were all rubbish and put pressure on us.
It’s failing mate. It’s utterly failing. Don’t second best in the league me. It’s a shambles.
After the way he has been hung out did you really expect better? He is mentally out the door.
Shouldn’t Dele have been moved in the last window? What we have now is another Eriksen Rose fiasco. Levy can’t see it.

Won’t happen for the simple reason that if kane and son have any brain at all they will leave. This is NOT a football club, the fact our beloved leader thinks he can just go and grab the biggest name in management and everything will be ok proves it. The club is a shambles from top to bottom and before people start with their rubbish about go follow arsenal, if you back this then you are part of the problem, because the longer this fraud gets away with it the longer it will stay the same. All you can ask of any manager/coach is that they get their squad playing at a level that’s greater than the sum of its parts. I believe that’s what the last guy did during his first 4 years. So far, Maureen has managed that for about 2 months with a squad, I’d argue, is somewhat better than the one he inherited.
In that respect, I think he’s currently failing. Let’s hope he and the squad improve during the rest of this season and the next window.

Everyone is bad right now, mix and match and it makes no difference. They look bereft of confidence too at the moment, especially at the back.
Trouble wiv stats though Taps is that the passing accuracy figure includes all those tippy tappy passes across the back line and to the goalkeeper which we did for much of the time we had possession.
What has he improved in this lot? Everyone knows my feelings about the biggest problem but I want someone to tell me one thing jose has improved. Results still poor. Style, drastically worse, team spirit seems poor. 15m a year and there has not been a jot of improvement
We are not cohesive enough as a team to analyse where weaknesses in that team structure are. We look like individuals losing like individuals because that’s what we’ve become. We aren’t team right now.

He isn’t being blamed (though I’m fairly sure I saw him being subbed on the pitch at some point, so he probably did play), but arguably, the subs made us even worse.
We’ve got Kane, Son, Reguilón, Lloris, Hojbjerg, Lo Celso & N’dombele; and you think this is the worst in, how long? That’s more than half a team of players who wouldn’t look out of place in any top 4 side in Europe. Did you see our players during Levy’s first 10 years? Or see us during the 90s?
I’m not convinced our players are quite as bad as our recent performances.

Rightly so, Jose was lauded for the typically effective tactics he employed that saw us top of the league. I’m not a fan of the spectacle but it was working, 1-6 at Utd 2-0 at home to City.
If we’ve done it before, why can’t we do it now? I’m not disputing the fact that we need some players at the back but you can’t just blame the players for not doing what they were doing a few months ago. It’s a collective responsibility shared by all involved and involves work done in preparation for games and training…

H, your defence of José ,I’m afraid is falling on deaf ears. I have tried, honestly I’ve tried. It was an entertaining match if you’re a neutral, but this week-on-week nonsence is turgid. How many weeks, how many matches must we go on and on and on….. This is the defensive guru, the master of not letting goals in. He’s failing. A season and a half, and we concede and concede and we lose and we lose. If we were just losing to the top 3/4/5/6 I can take that, but we’re not. We’re losing all over the place, and it’s utterly predictable. I want this manager out of my club as soon as possible. If you can give me a reason to change my mind I’d like to hear it please.

When he arrived he stated clearly that he believed our squad to be quality. He has since added players. We currently look little better than when he arrived halfway through last season, and we’re certainly worse than we were during this season’s first couple of months. Some have said it’s entirely the fault of the players; if that’s true, Jose can’t be confused, just misguided.
Remember that All Or Nought scene where he was humouring Levy about Winks, cracked me up so much seeing José pretending he thinks Winks is a quality player agreeing with Levy 😂

We needed fresh legs and depressingly those legs were connected to some truly garbage players. We were better before the subs

Winks’s cameo was absolutely tragic, and even some of our more solid players had a stinker tonight.
