A signing made during Jose’s time, although possibly not his first choice I would image, to be fair. However, utterly pointless just like that Portuguese lad Fernandez, baffling choice. Anyway, soon to be relived of his duties in Rome too at this rate, it’s just the slow decline of a once great manager. He’s not the first and won’t be the last…
Can’t disagree with any of that. But while waiting for our next match against decent opposition, if might be fun to enjoy our beating the less than decent teams, was my only point.
Yup, my use of the word ‘rubbish’ was sarcasm directed at some of the posts on here.

Jeez, there has t be a balance between being miserable ALL the time and actually enjoying a few decent results!
We finally look like we are playing to a plan, this is the single biggest change in the last year for me and Conte has managed it in a month.
We don’t have to “play someone decent” to see where we are, we just need to keep playing like we have a plan. If we win we win if we dont we dont but if they go out and work hard, close down, look like they play as a team, and look like they are improving as individuals thats good enough for me for now.
I’d say Mura aside al these things are happening, the problem as discussed is that we probably have no more than about 14 players interested in doing this.
Unspectacular but functional will be the order of the day this season. Mainly because Levy has spent the last three summers hoovering up players nobody else serious wants. Rather than players Conte can put to good use.
Tangy, Doherty, Bergwjin just need to be moved on, along with Dele. I don’t see how Conte makes use of them with is principals and tactics…
I think Conte took the job because he will have thought that many the players we have could play at least a version of his preferred system. A system he proven in the Premiership to get results.
He’s bypassed the need to cuddle up to Tangy, Dele or any other perennial under-achievers and wastrels. They look surplus to the way we are playing which seems quite functional. He’s using Kane as a ‘playmaker forward’ Skipp and PEH to compete in the midfield scrap and the stretching of the opponent using width.
There’s more than one way to skin a cat, although we need to play someone decent to see just where we are. Not particularly pretty but credit to Conte for injecting some competitive spirit back into what has been otherwise, a complete mess.
They tend to be less rubbish under the right management, Conte is doing what it say on his tin, so far anyway…

I had been looking at our league position on a slow updating league table: we are actually currently in 5th place, two points behind 4th with a game in hand, Not bad for a bunch of mostly rubbish players.
What, before you appreciate the last five matches, nine goals and two clean sheets you want to see us play someone in the top 5? Are you saving up all your current Spurs positivity for christmas pressies? :o) I like the angle ………… I’ll get the wrapping paper ………
Yup, back up issues tend to come with low spending owners who are pretty clueless when they do spend. We’re now of course paying the Itchy Parrot to sort out the clueless bit so let’s hope he isn’t ………. otherwise engaged any time soon.
Well, they took points off all their last four opponents in the league so that’s the perspective – not a top side but certainly a side in some sort of form right now
It’s just the back ups have let Conte down in Europe already so a thin squad – plus Kane is still an enigma for us right now

Quite a lot of negative spin on here; nothing untrue necessarily, but there is a counter spin version which I’d like to present for balance.
We’re unbeaten in the league under Conte, an improvement by any measure. If the Burnley match had gone ahead and Spurs had won, we’d now be 5th and 2 points behind 4th place with a game in hand.
Not bad for a rubbish team with a dreadful defence, a midfield lacking creativity, and a striker who can’t score.
Looking at the upcoming fixtures, we have to rotate , some looking a little leggy today, however the back ups do not inspire confidence, apart from Rodon imo.

Still unbeaten under the new manager. Conte’s mini me probly MotM again. Davies played well and made the 3rd goal; Sanchez played well too, and scored. Defence not just looking more solid but defenders getting well forward, not just the wing backs. Intriguing changes going on under Conte.

Bergy looks unfit and uninterested. Docherty is just awful. Dier still gets turned too easily and is always capable of a brain fart along with Sanchez. Davies is playing a lot better as part of a back three and he is pushing up more and linking with the wing-back better. Kane needs a rest for a few games. He looks sluggish and slow. Skippy had another great game. Hoijberg is solid as always but still suspect in distribution.Sessegnon needs a run of games but I am still unsure of him at the moment. Good scoreline. Three much-needed points. The performance was still lacking in many departments but Conte can only work with the player’s Levy and ENIC have lumbered him with. If we can keep pushing up the table so that by the January window we are in the group challenging for the top four then it will be once again down to Levy and ENIC to back the manager. If they do not Conte will walk for sure. The absence of Ali and Ndombele says everything about their future with Conte I suspect.

Good work! I still think there were quite a few moments which would be punished by a better side, but I’ll take the 3-0, thank you very much.
Davies has always been a steady enough Eddie – he’s been linking well with Reggie for a few games now

I just don’t think Kane is going to play himself into form. He needs a couple of games on the bench to refocus. Why try harder if you’re guaranteed to start?
Half time stats. With Spurs being 1-0 up Norwich have had 61% possession. If they keep that up second half it’s only a matter of time before they equalise. We really do need a second goal early to break their spirits.
Good goal though 👍☝️

Kane looks sluggish, Sanchez is a disaster waiting to happen and Rodon must be scratching his head. Passing from the back is really poor and it proves how vital Romero is to the team. Skipp has been good, but we desperately need a creative midfielder in Jan. I’d love to see Scarlett have a go with Son in the team
Kane is the weakest link. His little spat with Son shows that all is not well in the camp. I feel that they would play better without him in the ranks.

I wonder if it’s a plan to let them have the ball, hunt it down and go forward as fast as possible on the break, or a necessity caused by the fact they are better at keeping the ball than us.
Anyway, what a hit by Lucas! Hopefully Reg is not out for long; I still don’t think Sess is completely reliable.

Our problem is we have three distinct lines that do not transition well with each other. Back three to midfield and midfield to front three. Our passing from the back three is poor and we lack that creative link player in midfield. Dare I say it but someone like the Erickson of old. January we need another quality central defender who can pass well and carry the ball forward well. We need a quality creative midfielder and we need another top striker upfront.
Someone mentioned on an earlier article that we shouldn’t get carried away by a run of results against poor teams. This poor team have outplayed us thus far. Lucky to be ahead. Need quality to come into the first team asap.

You’re wrong – we’re going to win the league ☺️
🤣
Who, precisely, do you believe JM actually signed?
This is a restorative period against poor sides. Unfortunately we still have to play lots of good sides before the season is over ☺️

He’s had a knee issue, he’ll need to get over that first.
Where was Cheese Royale today? Can’t say we missed him though…
No do say that up the teams ahead who they have beaten?

The point you seem to be missing is that he wasn’t dross at Wolves and was signed for that reason
What, before you appreciate the last five matches, nine goals and two clean sheets you want to see us play someone in the top 5? Are you saving up all your current Spurs positivity for christmas pressies? :o) I like the angle ………… I’ll get the wrapping paper ………
Yes ..he needs to step up along with whoever else gets a chance.
Actually, they took points off their last SIX opponents in the league

Oh do behave…. based on his stint at Wolves Doherty was a steal at £15 million.
Take your dislike for Mourinho somewhere else. Us being where we are with players we have isn’t down to him.
3-0, -1 goal diff, I’ll take that..happy Monday
Doherty. The master of the pass back. What does this bloke do?
Bergy injured again.
And still Kane can’t score.
Skipp motm again for me, Davies has been good too
Indeed.

So what though? that’s 95% of the league they do that to – we’re not at their level simple as
Big build needed to compete with them
We’ve been awful.
Are corners have been much improved ,actually passing the first man now after 8 years or something.
For sure
Anyone thinks this lot is getting top 4 needs a reality pill. We’re badly in need of quality in the January and summer windows.
Phew
Boom…needed that!
Liverpool will rape us, then tease us, then rape us again…
Gooner
There’s been a few of them.
Most annoying coiner to ever wear the shirt for sure
Doherty is the worst player ever to wear the shirt. Absolute dross.
We have been shocking, surprised if this finishes 1-0
We’re making extremely hard work of beating a poor side who are bottom of the league.Yawn.
Tangy off for Doherty …oh oh !
Ang he is off😂

he isn’t a wing back.

Nice one. Cheers
How about defend and keep the ball in front is more important than everyone trying to Pique
Oh for a few more weeks or months of Conte’s coaching, perhaps.
Re Sess – True, but he’s new. Doing ok I thought and keen to be involved which is good to see.
Neither of whom have been replaced properly.
