Harry Kane revealed during an interview on Good Morning Britain today that the entire Tottenham squad have tested negative for Covid-19.
All of the coaching staff have also been tested with none returning positive.
The Daily Star quote Kane as saying: “We had tests on Monday, all the players and staff had tests and came back negative which is great.”
This is obviously great news. The lads are all in good health and in the best possible position to give the last nine games a real go when football is back.
But there is no finality about these results which could change dramatically within days. What happens when the first player tests positive will be the big test of the Premier League’s level of support for their restart proposals.
Spurs were one of the first Premier League clubs to undergo testing this week and regular tests are planned before and during the season’s resumption, which has been slated for June 12th or 19th, via the Daily Mail.
Tottenham’s visit of Manchester United has been slated as the favourite to be the first match back, to be played on Sky Sports’ Friday night football.
But we could be just one positive test away from that all changing, again.
