José Signs For Roma

By The Boy -

Hilarious. The gaffer’s been out of work for days and Roma have offered the Portuguese the job as their head coach for next season.

More details to follow as they emerge.

The TalkSport/Times/Sun Euro 2020 punditry deal was agreed long before Mourinho was sacked by Spurs.

I think sacking Jose before the final was as much a damage limitation strategy for Jose. If he didn’t feel like could win it then why suffer a high profile loss?

I think the Talksh*te thing and the timing of the Roma appointment means this was all planned for some time, probably several months. Jose probably wanted his ducks lined up before agreeing any severance package. Levy might have wanted the Roma thing in place so he didn’t have to keep paying him out for ages between jobs…

More worrying than what Maureen is up to but good luck to him is if that Eck chap gets to take over Arsenal.
One small thing that consoles me is that they are in the same boat as us in many ways if they get a (what seems)dream takeover i dont think i will be able to take it…..

Jose would’nt take them, even if Levy offered them on a FREE Transfer. 🙂

Absolutely hilarious. Does anybody think there was some sort of arrangement between Mourinho and Levy over this? It seems so quick but if I was Mourinho, I would rather be working for Dan Friedkin than Levy and who wouldn’t want to live in Rome? If Poch manages to knock out City tonight, I will go to bed with a chuckle in my heart.

Great move for him Italy was probably where he had his greatest success. One extra benefit is that I would suspect Mrs Mourinho will be happy to reside in Rome, who wouldn’t?, which was one of the things which I believe made his time in Manchester so uncomfortable as she stayed in London.

Take the haters out of it, Fact is, Spurs aside, Mourinho has an impressive CV. He was never destined to be out work for long.

Yes, our football was rubbish. I still maintain that was/is down to the players. Far easier to blame a manager who tends to get the sack regularly.

Anyone equally excited about the lolz to be had if Poch wins the Champs League with PSG and Jose wins silverware with Roma?

Get in there Jose!
Had a feeling it was going to be Juventus.
Well, let’s see, one more chance to prove he can do it again without a bottomless purse. All the best to him.

Levy will be thrilled. Means he only has to pay him a couple more months’ wages and that’ll be it. The idea that it was going to cost £30m to get rid of him was always nonsense.

Good luck to him, I assume he hasn’t had a defender go through him early on in the matches his play well in? 😆 Conte hardly played him for a while, definitely a confidence player that needs game time.

He better stay away from star studded squad.

Levy must be ecstatic! Interesting decision by Roma however. Clearly they weren’t put off by Jose’s most recent tenure, nor three dismissals in his last 6 years of management. As he is clearly not going to change his methods nor his tactics at this stage in his career, a three year contract is highly optimistic on Roma’s part.

He’s doing pretty well since January.

I’m wondering if he’ll be quite so gushing about the existing Roma squad as he was with ours in his early pressers?! 🤔

I have to say though, Eriksen hardly kicked a ball in anger for Inter in that particular endeavour…

Jose did well in Italy some years ago so his stock is still relatively high. Roma are around 7th and 20 odd points off the top. Roma are a great name in football but not a top club these days so lots for him to do.

Somehow though, I feel he might fit with the set up in Italy better than England or Spain these days, it’s more old school and less ‘progressive’ (for want of a better description). Rather like Jose.

Not to mention that Eriksen won a title before Kane 🙁

Everyone have laugh at our expense.
