The light you see at the end of the tunnel, is the front of an oncoming train

There appears to be some confusion over whether Tim Sherwood is out of his depth. Here’s his post match presser. And a few memorable lines.

We kept possession a lot better without opening Arsenal up too many times.

6 games in 17 days, we’ve probably the smallest squad in the league at the moment.

It could’ve gone either way, especially in the second half. I though we were in the ascendency

They outnumbered us in the middle of the park but we outnumbered them out wide. They can’t have it all ways. I think we were fine.

Yeah it was fine, fine.

We didn’t lose the game because we were outnumbered in the middle of the pitch.

We changed it because Soldado was injured and had to come off. That was the only reason we changed it.

A lot is made of systems – 4-4-2, 4-3-3 or whatever you want to call it…

It’s about passing the ball to your own team and keeping hold of it because when you lose the ball you in transition, you are always going to be out of shape – otherwise you are going to be a rigid, boring team.

So it’s about funnelling back in, shuffling across. I don’t think they overrun us in the middle of the park. I think they (we) did all right.
