Eintracht Frankfurt – often just called Frankfurt or SGE – have had a strong and notable presence in European competitions over the last decade (roughly 2015/16 to 2025/26 seasons). They’ve been particularly successful in the UEFA Europa League, where they’ve achieved deep runs and won the trophy, while also making appearances in the Champions League and Europa Conference League.

Here’s a breakdown of their key European campaigns in that period:

2013/14 (just before the decade, but relevant context): Europa League round of 32 elimination by Porto.

2018/19 — Europa League: Reached the semi-finals (lost on penalties to eventual winners Chelsea after Luka Jović scored 10 goals in the campaign). This was a standout run following their DFB-Pokal qualification.

2019/20 — Europa League: Advanced to the round of 16 (last 16).

2021/22 — Europa League: Won the UEFA Europa League title! They topped their group unbeaten, famously knocked out Barcelona in the quarter-finals (with huge travelling support), beat West Ham in the semis, and defeated Rangers 5-4 on penalties in the final (after a 1-1 draw). This was their second Europa League/UEFA Cup win (first in 1979/80) and earned them Champions League qualification.

2022/23 — Champions League: Their first CL appearance since 1959/60. They reached the group stage but didn’t advance further (notable for a Super Cup final loss to Real Madrid 2-0 earlier that season).

2022/23 or adjacent — Also played in the UEFA Super Cup (lost to Real Madrid).
Later seasons (2023–2025): Returned to Europa League with strong form, including long unbeaten runs (e.g., equalling records with extended streaks) and reaching quarter-finals in 2024/25 (e.g., exit to Tottenham).

Recent (2024/25 or 2025/26): Involved in Champions League again (qualified via Bundesliga position in some seasons), with mixed results like heavy defeats but also draws and wins against top sides. They’ve also appeared in the Europa Conference League in transitional years (e.g., eliminated in play-offs in one campaign).

Overall highlights in the last decade:

Consistent qualification for Europe most seasons via strong Bundesliga finishes or cup runs.

Best achievement: 2022 Europa League winners (unbeaten campaign).

Deep runs: Semi-finals (2018/19), quarter-finals (recent), round of 16 multiple times.

They’ve developed a reputation for exciting, attacking football in Europe, massive away support (e.g., 20,000+ fans at Barcelona), and resilience in knockout ties.

The record in the Europa League specifically has been excellent, with long unbeaten sequences (e.g., 18+ games in recent years).

Frankfurt have punched above their weight compared to some bigger German clubs, especially in the Europa League, making them one of the more exciting German sides in Europe recently. Their European form has helped sustain high Bundesliga placements and fan enthusiasm.
