A decade ago, David Beckham was 35 and the cause of one almighty surge of calls and emails to the Spurs’ megastore – as he was snapped training at Tottenham, wearing a #77 pale blue knitted hat. Alas, it was never available for sale.
Today is the icon’s 45th birthday, and if Poch Spice wants a nice little earner to help her out of her current financial woes, there are still Tottenham fans today that would pay good money for a #77 hat, myself included.
I remember the sending off against Argentina. He got hammered for it. His choice in women could leave a lot to be desired. Posh ffs….
Christian Eriksen for starts. Beckham was absolute class and worked as hard as or harder than any other player of his time. Crosses and free kicks were a thing of beauty. Most definitely not overrated.
Beckham was a great player. His dead balls were the best in the world. He could cross the ball from the flanks and put it on a penny nearly everytime. He often turned it on when he had to.. Kane would score loads with prime beckham feeding him….. Christian eriksen was overated mate. Supposed dead ball specialist who rarely scored and never when the pressure was on. He couldn’t even take corners.
That is contentious. Arguably, the best crosser in world football for a number of years. When he played on the right he was a class above. Had the usual ‘I want to play in the middle’ syndrome. When he left Utd he was more of a brand than a footballer, making money and developing an image.
Can you name a player that`s more overrated than this one ?
Trained with the other lot down the Seven Sisters Road a few times too. Shameless tart… 😂
