English Spurs Target Discusses Future With Local Paper

By Joe Fish -

As far as Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer links go, Jarrod Bowen may not be the most exciting. But the Hull City forward is an intriguing option.

The Hull Daily Mail reports that Spurs are one of a number of Premier League clubs, Arsenal among the others, to have shown an interest in the 22-year-old who has scored 41 goals in 100 Championship appearances.

It has been very difficult for Spurs to recruit striking support to Harry Kane who has a deserved monopoly on the No.9 position, so versatile forwards have been Mauricio Pochettino’s solution, and Bowen plays on the wing too.

Until this past summer when Ryan Sessegnon and Jack Clarke were signed, Spurs had moved away from the transfer policy which made stars of Dele Alli and Eric Dier, buying young, English talent from lower leagues.

What makes Bowen even more of an attractive prospect is that his contract expires at the end of the season, although The Hull Daily Mail understands that the Tigers have an option to extend his contract by 12 months.

The local newspaper asked Bowen about his contract situation and future at or away from the club, and he answered maturely and with an open mind.

It would be a massive bonus if Spurs could pick up another gem of Alli’s ilk. It could be they have gone for Clarke instead of Bowen. Why not both, eh?
