English journalist compares Bryan Gil to Tottenham great ahead of potential transfer

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur appears to be on the verge of landing 20-year-old Bryan Gil from Sevilla FC, seeing Erik Lamela and €25m-million heading the other way to the Spanish club.

The Daily Mail’s Pete Jenson put together a piece dissecting the potential deal from a Tottenham perspective. The English journalist wrote that the 20-year-old has some Darren Anderton in his game.

Jenson touched on Gil’s loan stint with SD Eibar last season, where the young forward was one of the squad’s best players. Gil’s 2020-21 season rewarded him with a look for the Spain national team but didn’t make the cut for the UEFA Euros, but Gil will be representing Spain at the Tokyo Olympics.

Furthermore, Jenson highlights the potential that Sevilla supporters see in Gil, which is why some aren’t happy with the sale. The La Liga side wants to win the league and compete in UEFA Champions League, so some question how many minutes Gil will receive this season.

Nonetheless, it seems as though Sevilla’s loss will be Tottenham’s gain should Gil reach his potential.

That fits right into why we are not much of Sh!t. Sign a player that is not a threat to break into the starting 11 out of preseason. Same crap go get the Vinicus’s of the world that can’t even start when kane was injured. I see you all ranting all time, yet you think a nice little dribbler to ride the bench is a good way to go. Please spare me with the selctive outrage. We are stock over there and no one is leaving. What Nuno going to do, distroy another young player by putting him on the right wing and said drop some dimes on the penalty spot with right foot?

We seem to be lob sided on the left side if he does come on board. Won’t start in front of Sonny, then we have Regi, Sess, plus the two left footers Le Celso & Davies.

Happy if we sign him, a good player to come off the bench when legs are tired.

As long as he doesn’t morph into another Stevie B who definitely hasn’t lived up to all the hype.
