This one really is the acid test
If Tony goes there is no-one better to replace him

Newcastle is on the verge of their third signing in January and also now looking at Traore apparently. It seems that if a club has the desire they can do business in January. ENIC and Levy were fully aware that during January we were facing Chelsea three times and Arsenal in a home derby. These matches included a League Cup semi-final and two important EPL CL spot matches. If we had any serious intention of supporting Conte and investing in the “football squad” then the meeting with Levy and Paratici would have taken place in December and deals would have been set up so we could have introduced new players into the squad for these matches. Instead, Levy decides to fly off to the Bahamas. What does that tell you? It tells me that it’s the same situation at the club and the owners once again are window dressing with Paratici and Conte. They have decided yet again that it is cheaper to pay Paratici and Conte their salaries than to invest the necessary monies into rebuilding the football squad. The fans are being mugged off yet again. We will lose Conte to Man Utd if he does not get supported. Levy will be tapping up Pooch again when he gets ejected by PSG in the summer.

I think you’ll find Poch will be on a hiding to nothing if he’s foolish enough to return to Tottenham. If he does do it knowing what he knows he deserves all he gets.

You’re right about Poch, although I would think he sees more of an opportunity at Utd.this season.I did read though that Rangnick doesn’t fancy Poch as his sussessor.

Poch will end up at Newcastle when his contract runs out in 2023, or sacked before then.

Eddie Howe was only brought in as a stop gap, stabilise them and get them clear of relegation.

It will be a bit similar to what City did with Hughes. Give the reins to shiny, progressive foreign coach. Its suits the brand and appeal of Newcastle that bit more.

I think there’s a strong chance he comes back to Spurs. Why he would want to work under you know who again is anyone’s guess, but I wouldn’t rule it out. He’s commuting on Eurostar from his home north of London and staying in a hotel in Paris.

He would need assurances but using the same approach as before with younger players and on a budget Levy would find palatable, I can see a reunion at some point. Whatever happens, Conte probably won’t see out his 18 months…
