Tottenham have been linked with a move for the Sporting right back Pedro Porro.
According to a report from Jornal de Noticias, the Londoners are keen on signing a right back and they have identified the former Manchester City player as a target.
Antonio Conte is currently reliant on players like Matt Doherty and Emerson Royal as his right-backs. Both players have been quite mediocre this season and they have cost Spurs valuable points this season.
Meanwhile, they signed Djed Spence from Middlesbrough during the summer transfer window and the youngster has not been able to hold down a regular starting berth so far.
Tottenham need to bring in an upgrade and it remains to be seen whether they can sign Porro in the coming months.
The 23-year-old is thought to be on the radar of Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Real Madrid as well. He has five assists across all competitions for Sporting this season.
Porro completed a permanent move to Sporting in the summer and the Portuguese outfit might not be keen on selling him just yet.
That said, they would be powerless to stop him from leaving if Spurs decide to trigger the player’s release clause. The defender has a clause in his contract which allows him to leave the club for a fee of around £40 million.
Antonio Conte’s system is hugely reliant on wing backs and therefore signing a quality right back who is effective going forward, could make a big difference for the Tottenham side.
