Confirmed: Tottenham man has ‘left the club’ and is in talks with North London rivals Arsenal after rejecting Everton

According to Daily Mail, Tottenham’s emerging talent manager Chris Perkins has ‘left the club’ and is in negotiations to join Arsenal, their North London rival.

Perkins is highly regarded in the football world for his exceptional talent in recruiting young players during his time at Derby County, where he played a significant role in the development of many first-team players from the youth set-up.

He was brought to Tottenham by Fabio Paratici, the managing director of football, and Steve Hitchen, the former technical director, to identify and bring in the best young talent from the 17 to 21 age bracket for the club’s academy.

However, just 18 months after joining Tottenham, Perkins was reportedly open to leaving the club and as per the report was even approached by Everton who wanted to bring him back.

The report further adds that Perkins has rejected the chance to go back to the Merseyside club and instead is ‘ready to take up the job’ with Arsenal.

In his new potential role at Arsenal, Perkins will head up their academy recruitment and will start in the next month.

Arsenal has a strong focus on developing homegrown talent and has an impressive academy system, with players such as Bukayo Saka, Eddie Nketiah, and Emile Smith Rowe being key members of the first team in recent years.

The club’s focus on youth development and its upward trajectory under the management of Mikel Arteta make it an attractive destination for coaches, players, and club officials.

Everton, on the other hand, are entering a new era under the management of Sean Dyche and is currently floundering in 19th place in the league.
