Coach parties welcome

By The Boy -

West Ham indoors.

What happens when you take an already ‘orrible clubs and put Fat Sam in charge?

Well, for one, you get factoids like this: Just one of the five goals that West Ham have conceded in the Premier League this season has come from open play.

Sam looks like a coach driver and I fully expect him to bark his chariot today.

The chalkboard is a guess. My suspicion is that André will actually field the same side that started against Chelsea.

Today must be about creating space and opportunity of Soldado. He’s a crackerjack player and he needs to be the focus. Townsend was hugely improved against Chelsea. I really can’t give the give enough credit. The whole “Sir Shootalot” routine was under control and he went from wasteful to wonderful.

Andros’ second half flat-lined and that was a concern. Maybe he was a casualty of Jose’s tactical genius, maybe he just fizzled out. Of course the good new is that our bench is almost an embarrassment of riches these days, so we aren’t suddenly “down to the bare bones” if someone gets a bit pooped.

I’d start Holtby on the basis that I’m not sure how my blood pressure will cope watching AVB “unleash” him with only 15 minutes to go. If we still aren’t winning after over an hour of trying to solve the problem of how to get into a shop with “closed” sign on it’s door, then the answer is – we should have changed our plan way before then. This is West Ham indoors, not Bayern München away.
