Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma.
The 27-year-old Malian defensive midfielder has been outstanding for Tottenham so far this season as he could have been a quality acquisition for the Gunners.
Although Arsenal have Thomas Partey at their disposal, Bissouma would have been an upgrade.
The 27-year-old could have been the ideal partner for Declan Rice at the heart of Arsenal’s midfield and it remains to be seen whether the Gunners decide to make their move for him.
A report from Fichajes claims that Arsenal want to sign the 27-year-old during the January transfer window in order to replace Partey. The Ghanaian midfielder has been linked with a move away from Arsenal in the past as well. It remains to be seen whether Arsenal can replace him with Bissouma.
It seems unlikely that Spurs will sanction the departure of a key player to a direct rival in the coming months, and it remains to be seen whether Arsenal can come up with a substantial offer for the midfielder. Tottenham are unlikely to sanction his departure for a reasonable price and Arsenal will have to pay well over the odds in order to tempt Daniel Levy.
Meanwhile, Bissouma is well-settled in the Premier League and he has shown his qualities at Brighton and Tottenham. He could make an immediate impact at Arsenal and help them improve in the middle of the park.
