Rio Ferdinand believes Harry Kane’s form is being ignored due to Erling Haaland’s rather extraordinary start to the season.
Spurs have made quite a decent start to the campaign themselves, having just lost one game as they sit third on the table only 3 points off City in 2nd place and 4 points off Arsenal in first place. While their style of play may not appeal to many, Conte’s team has quietly entered the conversation about being title contenders.
Kane’s form has undoubtedly been crucial for Tottenham. The 29-year-old has eight Premier League goals in nine games. This includes match winners against Wolves, Fulham, and Brighton as well as two important goals against Nottingham.
However, Kane’s form has gone unnoticed, which is understandable given the impact Haaland has had for City. The Norwegian striker has taken the Premier League by storm, scoring 15 goals in the league so far, outscoring 13 other Premier League clubs have scored all together.
But Rio Ferdinand has suggested that the Englishman deserves more credit than he is getting. He told his Youtube channel:
“No one’s talking about it. If Haaland wasn’t here, we’d be talking about ‘oh, he’s the best number nine in the world, look at the stats’.
Because Haaland is blowing people out of the water, he’s getting ignored.”
Kane’s form is particularly remarkable given the style of football Conte has his team playing. And perhaps Rio Ferdinand has a point. Had Haaland not been in the league, the media would be praising the Englishman’s consistent form.

The only difference being that Harry is separate from the rest . You know he is thinking , you know that he is trying , you know he’ll work it out . My God , he’s the gift that is Harry Kane . A great player , a greater person and a rock . England captain and not a doubt in my mind that Harry can be Golden Boot Winner at World Cup – and if he manages that it would probably mean we would have reached the semis at least .
The old adage form is temporary , class is permanent is a truism and if Harry’s stats are 8 Prem goals from 9 , its ridiculous to compare with the mighty Haaland and state “he’s out of form ” , . Also reminding ourselves that Haaland’s figures are over 8 WEEKS , Harry’s are 8 YEARS . Pure class !!!!!!!!!!!!
He has been missing a ton of goals this season and cant get passed his man 80% of the time.
He isnt in good form he has missed a hatful he would normally bury
Yeah and by that reasoning if Arsenal and Man City didn’t exist we’d be top of the Premier League.
