Word from a new source, is that contact with Frank de Boer will be officially confirmed this weekend.
If this happens, quite how THFC [Trading as Somali Warlords Enfield Ltd] will square their denial statement, is another matter. Mind you, name a business with a neck made of tougher brass than Spurs – and you win a prize.
The suggestion put to me, is that terms have been agreed.
Yet the source that sparked the LVG tale I ran, remains equally convinced that this exactly where we are with Van Gaal. Even today.
The only two things we do know, for absolute certainty, is that De Boer and Van Gaal have both openly admitted contact with Spurs. Irrespective of what Spurs would have us believe.
We also know that Van Gaal being confirmed as Man Utd’s new manager has so far failed to happen on at least 3 occasions.
My take? I think Louis Van Gaal is a (and this is no slight, who’d blame him?) a whoring Dutch bar steward, and that Levy & Co. may, just may, be serious about making a decent appointment, sooner rather than later.
I don’t buy Pochettino. Nice guy. Sound coach. Like I said yesterday, I think we need a colonel. Someone would walk in and impose their will without question.
De Boer or Van Gaal, either would deliver that.
